This was the first time my family and I have stayed at Coast Blackcomb Suites Whistler and we were definitely pleased with our stay there and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it for families with kids, especially teens : ) We've stayed at 'grander' places in the village but we think we've found our SWEET SPOT with CBSW. While the decor is more 'gently used' than others we've stayed in, we enjoyed the rustic feel and all the amenities this hotel had to offer. The SKI-IN/SKI-OUT was most convenient...basically after you pick up your skiis from the storage it's a 15 second walk and you're on the hill skiing down to the Merlin lift. The rooms were SPACIOUS and CLEAN and if your preference is to cook a meal, you've got everything you need in the room. We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of choice offered at the breakfast buffet. Basically everything you could ask for with the exception of bacon and orange pekoe tea! Every other flavour of tea was available though! Next time I"ll pack my own Red Rose...lol!! The Snack Room had every munchie you could think of to satiate that 10pm stomach growl! The HOT TUBS and POOL were wonderful. The FREE SHUTTLE pickup @ every 15 mins to take you around Whistler were very efficient. Last, but not least, the staff was AMAZING!! Every staff member was soooo friendly and easy going - GOTTA LOVE IT : )))
This is our 4th trip to the Coast Blackcomb Suites.
There have been some changes since our last visit with regards to the breakfast set up, which is an improvement. I had heard that the breakfast itself had been improved with more choice, but there is no evidence of this.
The rooms are ok, although there are a couple of little niggles. We requested a specific room and the hotel fulfilled our request, which was good.
The location is great. The hotel offers free wifi which is good. The staff all seem friendly enough.
We've already booked our next trip to Whistler & are staying at the Coast again, so they must be doing something right!
We went to Whistler on our honeymoon and stayed at the Coast Blackcombe suites. We had read a few mixed reviews about it but were pleasently surprised. The staff were more than welcoming and were very helpful and polite. Our room was a Studio and was really nice and spotlessly clean, could not fault it, very cosy with the fireplace and very comfortable. The kitchen area had everything we needed and the room was cleaned everyday by the cleaning staff. Breakfast was fine and had enough choice. The onsite shop was great if you needed any little things or some munchies and snacks. Hot tubs were lovely, loved heading to chill out in them after a day on the slopes.
The only downside i could say is that the ski in ski out location was perfect but because it was quite far up you had to get a bus to the village as a bit too far to walk and it got quite cold whilst waiting as sometimes they did take 20-30mins especially in the nights.
Apart from that i would recommend this hotel.
All was above expectations. Really liked the form we had to sign saying we would be quiet or we could get "kicked out of the hotel". breakfast was gr8. The staff were very helpful. will go back next year and stay an extra day. peace, Ed
