I was underwhelmed by this hotel. They’re not cleaning rooms daily—only after 4 days. One of my biggest hotel pet peeves is the movement toward not cleaning rooms. I love having my room cleaned every day. If my room isn’t being cleaned daily, why wouldn’t I just stay at an Airbnb? Upon double-checking, it is noted toward the bottom of the website. Yes, they’ll clean upon request, but that’s a pain. And you run out of clean cups, tea, etc so you’re always tracking someone down. Also the rooms aren’t set up for intermittent cleaning. The trash and recycling are far too small, so we ended up with piles of it beside the trash can for our 5 day stay. All that said, even when we called down for supplies, and they said they’d bring them, they didn’t. But the front desk did hand us supplies when we went down. …Update—they didn’t even clean after four days! Called the front desk, they said they didn’t know how that happened. They apologized, but still the room is dirty. I also feel like the manager is going to say I should have told them. I did tell the front desk—I called, I went down. Lots of very nice apologies, no actual solutions.
The staff was fine but not great (except Amanda—she was so nice and helpful!)
Beds were good. The windows open which is nice. Room decor is lovely. Location is fantastic. You can walk almost anywhere you want from here.
As others have said, the harbour is noisy starting at 8 a.m. It didn’t bother me, but it might bother some people.
No cookies or tea in the lobby (other reviews note both of those things). And the hotel voice recording and their website does specifically say they have cookies. But still none. Our room never had water glasses, even when requested.
And the fridge froze half the things we put in it. And the colour on the TV was off—everything had a weird red tint.
Stay elsewhere if you're staying more than a day or two.
