We were planning on staying in St. John's 2 nites but the fog came in combined with runway issues and we had to stay 2 more nites. The staff of the Murray Premises were very kind and helpful with our rooms (upgraded) and suggested good restaurants. Alana and the rest of the staff were very friendly and did everything they could to accommodate us. The continental breakfast supervisor made us feel like family. We will be recommending this hotel. Thanks so much, Bonnie

Room Tip: Get the room with the double jacuzzi and big shower - love the towel warmers and fireplace!

This is an excellent place to stay for both the quality of the accommodation and location close to George Street Pubs and shops in the old town section of St John's NL as well as being across from the harbor.

Room Tip: ask for a view of the harbor

Thank you for choosing the Murray Premises Hotel and for sharing such a nice review!

We are very blessed to be located right in the heart of downtown St. John's. Surrounded by fine restaurants, local shops, adventure tourism, and immersed in the history of the city, the Murray Premises is a fixture of both old and new St. John's. I'm so glad our accommodations made you feel at home while you enjoyed the convenience of our harbourfront location!

Thanks again for choosing our hotel, we appreciate your patronage and your generous comments.

We were spending the last three nights of our trip to Newfoundland so we decided to stay somewhere well located and upscale.
We had been in a several B & B's which had their charms, but wanted a traditional hotel for the end of the trip.

Our room was extremely spacious with rustic charm. Well equipped with a fridge (to store the beer and keep the vacuum packed fish we were taking home).

The room overlooked the restaurant/patio bar which I thought might be noisey at night. But it shut down early on Thursday we arrived, and was closed the next two day due to the very cool weather.

A "more then" continental breakfast is provided each day.

Everything in central St. John's is within walking distance from this hotel.

The lobby has a nice little lounge with snacks, coffee and tea. A real nice touch.

There is no gym or pool.

Room Tip: Overlooking the harbour, not the patio.

Thank you so much for the compliments on our hotel, and for sharing your review with other travelers on TripAdvisor.

I appreciate you pointing out the convenience and quality of our spacious guest rooms, in-room refrigerator, guest lounge, and our deluxe continental breakfast. We try and seamlessly blend the old world charm of this National Historic Site with modern hotel amenities, and it is so great to hear from guests who value this balance!

Thanks once again, I hope we have the privilege of hosting you again in the future.

Stayed on third floor with a view of the docks if you tilted your head a certain way out the window. Easy parking. An excellent starting point to walking the colourful and historic streets, dock area and boat tours of St. John's which is entertainment in itself as well as partaking in the many excellent restaurants in the down town area.

Fabled George St. is a short walk away - although the street needs a facelift - other tourist attractions are within walking distance which is good as driving the streets here can be 'complicated'.

As this place was a renovated warehouse, huge beams go up through the rooms - be careful you don't walk into one, although if you need extra space to hang clothing, bring a hammer and a few nails - our closet had a beam in it which limited storage. An electric fan is also useful to move air in the room - no air conditioning.

We liked the uniqueness of the hotel - those used to Holiday Inns, Deltas, etc. might not like its charm. It is too bad that the city allowed the building of Keg restaurant across the street which blocks the view somewhat.

Thank you for sharing your review on TripAdvisor, we appreciate you taking the time to comment on your recent stay with us.

Our property is definitely conveniently located as you outlined. We are mere steps from boat tours, great dining, and nightlife and we provide complimentary parking for our hotel guests. A great starting point for touring St. John's indeed!

There is certainly a different feeling in our hotel as you described. Wooden beams, exposed brick, rock walls, all showing themselves in different fashion throughout our 69 boutique rooms. If closet space was an issue on this visit let us know prior to your next stay and we will make sure you have ample room. Each guest room is unique and we can ensure you have all the space you need for garments and personal items!

You also mentioned air conditioning, or a lack thereof. All of our guest rooms are air conditioned, so I'm not sure what problem you may have encountered during your time with us. If you would like to contact me directly at the hotel I would be happy to discuss this in greater detail, and properly explore this issue further to ensure everything is functioning correctly for future guests!

Thank you again for choosing the Murray Premises Hotel, and for sharing your comments!
