Lovely hotel, lovely room, best pillows and bedding, cool paintings and music, and friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed for 2 nights before going out to Trinity area and we had one night back in St. John's at another hotel that was nothing like this one. I have already told some friends about it! Thanks Jag. :)
Parking in St John's is terrible. The JAG offers valet parking, which is one of the main reasons I frequent.
Upon arrival yesterday, I was told we couldn't have it. I requested my reservation be canceled, and I go stay elsewhere.
The front desk attendant was unaccomodating and sputtered off to her manager, who rectified the situation.
I apologized to the attendant for my curtness, to which," that wasn't my problem in the 1st place."
The front desk is the 1st thing a traveller's sees and experiences. This experience left me sour.

Our room, #409, was a corner premiere suite overlooking the harbour. It was a wedding gift from my aunt. Absolutely perfect stay!! Immaculate room, all amenities present, quiet & excellent room location. Our stay included the valet parking, an exceptional option as downtown is limited in spaces. The Jag Hotel itself was so cool!! Great vibe, excellent music & truly, the best service we’ve ever experienced. The rooms & hotel itself is super clean & anticipates guest’s every need. The Exile restaurant was delicious; scrumptious breakfast, amazing ambience & very friendly staff. It was an optimal experience from beginning to end! Love the turn down service, fantastic piped in soundtrack, artwork & truly awesome & knowledgeable staff. We’re from St. John’s & can easily & highly-recommend The Jag Hotel to everyone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thanks so much!!
IPoor communication. We called and asked to be switched to a double queen room from our king room as we had a couple that wanted to come in with us for the night. They said there was none available, which was fine and they offered to give us a call back if one became available. We did not receive a call so assumed we would be getting the king room and told the others we unfortunately couldn’t change the room. When we arrived, we had a double queen room. We were upset nobody communicated this to us and when we spoke to the manager on duty, Paul, he said his staff did as instructed and they didn’t have to contact us. Gave us a couple of free breakfast coupons. This was too bad as our friends could’ve come with us and they were unapologetic about the miscommunication. I’m not so upset about the change as I am they didn’t communicate with us and then acted like it wasn’t a big deal. As a guest, I felt brushed off.
The restaurant is mid at best. I had the yogurt breakfast and the yogurt was bland and actually came out warm.
Our bathtub has a gross yellow stain in it.
Overall this hotel is far too expensive for what it is, there are better options downtown.
Location was superb. Prior to booking I read some people stating the street noise was a bit of an issue, nonsense. We never heard a thing and loved every minute of our stay. Staff were great, rooms and bathroom were large, clean and modern. Book this place, you wont regret it.
