This old Anglican church has beautiful stained glass windows and would have been typical of other Anglican churches being built after it. We went to a Sunday service and followed the Book of Common Prayer of the Anglican Church of Canada. Nice to find out the history of this church and to know it is the oldest Protestant Church in Canada.

We just happened to be in Halifax during that city's Doors Open program, and so took advantage of the opportunity to visit St. Paul's Church which dates back to 1749. As a church with so much history, including a constant reminder of the Halifax Explosion, this church blends that history with a testament to its roots with numerous tablets situated around the walls. A colourful brochure helps guides visitors through the sanctuary while providing interesting details including the fact that it is the oldest building in Halifax..

This is such a lovely historical church in Halifax. So unique and beautiful inside, as well as from the outside.

A modest little church with some historical displays. Don't make a special trip, but stick your head in if your in the area.

History, religion, and architecture wrapped in a pleasant package. Wander old Halifax and the waterfront and eventu@lly you will come by the church. Take a look inside and most definitely view the exterior.
