Halifax Harbour Ferry

It was a sunny day, and a simple thing to just take the ferry across the harbour and back again, but it's worth every cent as you get a view of Halifax like no other. It's a city largely defined by its harbour and the events that took place there, so the water is the obvious place from which to see it.

Just a quick trip to Dartmouth to ride the ferry. I always do this when I'm in the city. Glad to see that the service hasn't changed over the years.

Used the Dartmouth- Halifax often when I was staying in Dartmouth. It was cheap $2.50 and an easy way to get to Halifax as I didn't have to worry about where to park in Halifax. The ferry gives you a unique view of the harbour and was clean and safe.

The short ferry ride across the harbour enables visitors to get sweeping views of the skyline of Halifax on one side and the suburban city of Dartmouth on the opposite shore. It also enables visitors to see the Canadian Forces naval base with many ships often docked. The ferry operates year around and the fare is less than $2 for a round trip ride if it is completed within the set time limit. On a nice sunny day it is a delightful excursion.

Free for seniors on Tuesday outside peak hours and a very efficient and cheap service between Dartmouth and Halifax $1.75 pp each way every 15 mins . Clean and safe with someone playing piano for the wait on the Alderney side. Made it easy to enjoy both d
sides of the harbour without needing a car or having parking hassles
