Front desk was friendly and welcoming. Rooms are huge and beautiful. Would be an awesome place to stay with family having a full kitchen, even has dishwasher and ice maker. Bonus having 2 TVs if someone wanted to go to sleep you can have the option of watching TV in the living area. Beds comfy and housekeeping was top notch. Definitely will return.

After living in Guelph for a few years we have moved back north in the past year. However, I still miss the shopping that Guelph has to offer. My mom and I go here for a shopping weekend and a getaway! Staybridge is our first choice! The breakfast is amazing and very great if you are on a strict diet (vegan, gluten free, vegetarian, keto etc). They offer many choices such as yogurt, bagels, oatmeal, peanut butter, fresh fruit, waffles, eggs, bacon. You can't go wrong. It is a full buffet of fresh hot food. We enjoy how it is easy to get too, right off of the Hanlon. It is located in a very quiet spot where you can't hear a peep- far enough away from the busy roads. About a 5 minute journey to the Stone Road Mall. They also serve dinner for free during the week (spaghetti and meatballs, tacos, mac n' cheese). Very well lit entrance way and friendly faces as you enter the building. Very clean and kept up to date. Treat yourself to the quality of the Staybridge- you will be glad you did!

I am a frequent reviewer and rarely give a bad review. I travel frequently with work, for pleasure and with my children’s sports teams. I love travelling and know that hiccups happen and I normally roll with the punches. I don’t always review but feel this stay needs a review.

I booked my room via a third party. It was a group booking for my child’s team. After booking I called the hotel to provide my IHG number and confirm that the room I would be given would be a 1 bedroom suite. I arrived at the hotel and my member number was not on the reservation and I was given a room with one bed and a pull out. I asked at the desk if they could move me to the suite I booked. I was told yes and the cost would be 154 for tonight and 141 for tomorrow night. I said ok. She then looked up my reservation and realized that I was paying 169. She then said that I would need to pay 179 for the 1 bedroom and not the previously quoted price. I said that was not fair as someone can walk off the street and get a price for 25 less than what she wanted to charge me. I said I was willing to pay the 169 (15 more tonight and 28 more tomorrow night) but I was not about to pay even more. It certainly does not seem fair that 2 people in the same place and time would be quoted and charged 2 different prices for the same product. She gave no explanation, just a ‘no there is nothing I can do’.

I asked to speak to a manager. She said no one was there. I asked her to call the manager. She refused. I asked her to call customer service. She refused. I asked her to write down the previously quoted prices and sign her name. She refused. I asked her for her name. Kayla. She refused to give her last name. I then got upset and told her she was ridiculous and unreasonable. She threatened to kick me out.

I phone IHG and made my complaint.

I am flabbergasted. This is entirely unprofessional, entirely unfair and entirely unreasonable.

There are 2 issues here: 1. Reneging on a quote is just shady business practice, and 2. Unreasonable and unhelpful customer service.

Needless to say, if I could leave here I would. However I am with a team so am stranded.

I caution anyone who considers booking this hotel in the future.
