My husband and I had dinner today (Wednesday night at 7pm). The restaurant was fairly empty which was to be expected but I imagine that on Friday or Saturday nights, it would be difficult getting a table without a reservation as the restaurant is on the smaller side.

Since it was our first time there, we were taken on a short tour of the gorgeous decor, ornate paintings (our particular favourite was the Meena Lisa - an Indian take on the famous Mona Lisa painting) and Swarovski chandeliers. I urge you to take the tour if offered.

We ordered mango lassis for drinks, shahi seekh kebab for appetizers, a chicken biryani and a chicken breast stuffed with cottage cheese in a tasty sauce along with saffron rice for mains, and finally kulfi to share for dessert.

I felt the shahi seekh kebab was a bit dry on its own but paired with the tamarind sauce was very tasty. Everything else was a homerun. The food was flavourful, rich and generously portioned. An indulgence for sure!

The service was along the lines of a five-star restaurant. Courteous, knowledgeable and helpful staff were everywhere with our waiter Kenneth being the highlight for us (especially me since the menu is extensive and a bit overwhelming to a novice to Indian food).

The decor is absolutely lovely - this is a special occasion place in terms of atmosphere and price. Our total price before tip came to $90.

Would we return? Absolutely!

The service provided at Maharaja is outstanding. The staff was very friendly and were able to accommodate us at short notice. The restaurant ambiance was great and the food was very good. The appetizers suggested and Main course suggested were tasty and worth trying.
Definitely a must try when in the area.
The restaurant is normally very packed and would suggest to make a reservation if planning to visit.

Dinner at the Maharaja was quite delightful, all the dishes we tried were very delicious and unique. They were able to capture the essence of Indian food but present it in a manner that made dining a culinary sensation.
Service was excellent and the waiter actually serving the food added a classy touch.
