Dining at the Doubletree offers two options; Buchanans and the grab and go Moose & Squirrel Coffee & Pub serving Starbucks coffee. Breakfast buffet including Starbucks Coffee, Premium Juices, Omelette Station, etc. is $15.95 for an adult, $8.95 5 - 12, under 5 free. In comparing to other four star hotels with same menu, Doubletree is best value. Local Denny's grand slam with juice and coffee is actually more expensive. For a quick grab and go, the Coffee Pub is under $5. There are other options in the immediate area as well. Lunch in Buchanans is $12-14, dinner starts at $24 and there is a Seafood Special for the summer - $8.95 to add Alaskan Crab to any entree. The business centre is free after hours, during business hours there is a fee. If you bring your own lap top, interenet wireless access is free. Your view of the American Falls will depend on the floor selected, with higher floors offering better views. The views are primarily of the American Falls, only a little bit of the Horseshoe Falls. Please note, the "chlorine" comment is a bit odd. The swimming pool was converted to a salt water pool last winter, it does not smell of chlorine. It was done for that exact reason. Perhaps those folks had bathing suits which were worn at one of the city's indoor water parks or eleswhere and the chlorine smell was still in it.
The Resort name is utilized as the hotel offers a full service AVEDA day spa, indoor pools, whirlpool, sauna, fitness facility and an outdoor hot tub and sundeck. In comparison to other local hotels, very few offer anything outdoor, and also the hotel grounds are much larger than any other property - although not like other resorts in secluded areas. The trees are all trees that are native to Ontario's Algonquin Park. The hotel was just notified it won a first place prize by the City of Niagara Falls in the commercial category for it's outstanding grounds.
