Stayed for 2 nights on a visit to North Bay. Front desk staff were very friendly, we had a room with two double beds - very clean and comfortable. Bathroom had two sets of each towel size and although we didn't use them all it was nice to have the back up. Bathroom had a hair dryer and the usual complimentary toiletries.
Room was equipped with a coffee maker, selection of coffee (caffeinated and decaf), selection of herbal teas; small bar size refrigerator and a microwave; TV and WiFi. WiFi was a bit slow but adequate. Each floor has an ice maker and drinks vending machine but what is really nice is that these are tucked away in a separate room in the elevator bank and there are no guest rooms adjacent to them so the rooms are very quiet.
Breakfast is included and they do a good job of this - lots to choose from -> eggs, sausage, ham, oatmeal, dry cereal, coffee/tea, scones, muffins, waffles - everything is fresh and they even had both cut up fresh fruit and a bowl of whole fresh fruit so you could grab an apple or banana on the go. There was even almond milk for the vegans! The breakfast room is nicely appointed with plenty of seating. Kudos to the ladies who were in charge of the breakfast room - tables were quickly cleared when diners left and were also wiped down between uses.
Hotel is located across the street from a No Frills, Shoppers Drug Mart is right next door, and there is a power centre behind the hotel with Cdn Tire, Winners, SportChek, Bulk Barn, and some others along with a newer pub style restaurant. McDonald's and Starbucks are both close by.
Just a general suggestion: many hotels are now gently nudging guests to re-use towels which is great, but it would be helpful if they install more towel racks as one isn't sufficient if you want to hang your towels to dry and use again.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay, we recommend this Hampton Inn, and would definitely stay here again if we revisit North Bay.
