Being a block from the Metro and having reasonably-priced garage parking just around the corner made this hotel enticing enough. Having the wide variety of activities and restaurants available to you within walking distance is very appealing as well. I found the room to be exactly what I needed for a place to sleep and be refreshed in the morning. The bed was super comfy and the pillows were great. Likewise, the service I received from the staff was courteous, efficient, and very helpful. They had great recommendations for the local area. And do yourself a favor: check out the basement lounge! It's a neat glimpse into Old Montreal right at your hotel.

St Denis street is full of outdoor cafes and restaurants during warm days. In the fall or winter, this place is still bustling with people enjoying night out and indoor dining. It is within walking distance to Old Montreal and Chinatown where people can enjoy sightseeing and different restaurants.
It is only 5 minute walk from Barry station from where one can catch a subway + express train to the airport. Downtown Montreal/ St Catherine is not too far either.
Room was spacious although the facility was a bit bare.
A good hotel for couples or family planning to visit Montreal using Subway or on foot.

We got this place as part of a package thru an online booking service. I had no idea what we were getting but the price was too good to resist. I was prepared for the worst.

What we got was fantastic. We had an amazingly fun long weekend. So first the positives: obviously as other reviews will state, location. We walked all over the place in the four days we stayed here. You can easily reach Chinatown, the Village, Old Town, the Port. And obviously you’re right in the midst of the Latin Quarter. Just walk up St Denis for every kind of food and drink you could ever want or imagine.

The room was small and cozy. The bed was beyond comfortable. The fridge is there, just hidden. We were happy campers.

The downside is virtually the same as the upside: you’re in the heart of a very active city. You hear everything. Trash collection, folks partying all night. We slept well for the most part but being in the center of it all has a price.

So that’s why I’m giving it only 4 stars. That, and the fact that the heating system is straight out of he 19th century.

I found it to be clean and comfortable. The building is charming and old. Really cute and affordable. The jacuzzi suite was nice, a good relaxing way to start the day. I don't recommend leaving your stuff behind for the day (with the front desk) they leave your bags in an unlocked room.

I had a two-night stay at Hotel St-Denis in Aug 2017. Other than the convenient location, the hotel met my minimal expectations given the low price point. The rooms though are in dire need of sprucing up. The bed sheets, carpets, tiles, toilet sink, etc looked like they have been existing for decades.

Room Tip: Get a room on a lower floor as the elevator is slow, so you can use the stairs instead of relying on the elevator
