The national park is located between Montreal and Quebec city which makes it an ideal location when exploring Quebec. The park is well managed, extremely friendly staff and the camping facilities are excellent. There are many activities around the park such as canoeing, hiking and fishing with several view points offering stunning panoramas of the mountainous skyline. Information is readily available at the welcome centre. It is advised to bring a strong insect repellent, we used off! during our camping trips and it seemed to work quite well. We highly recommend this park and can't wait to return.

I am just reading about the Bridge that Duplessis built and collapsed into the river. Apparently, the design did not account for a rapid 50 degree temperature drop. I live by this river and it is the Guardian of my Sanity...lol. It is colder than Montreal and affects the temperatures with a windy breeze. Bring a Sweater. Great for canoeing, Khayaking or Goose Watching.

La Mauricie is the closest National Park of Canada to Montreal. It is very rustic in both it's location and feel. We only spent one night here before we continued on our trip to Gaspe. The campground itself was nice and level for our tent and had a picnic table and fire pit. We walked a few trails before heading out the next day and found ourselves watching a few kingfisher's playing in the water. I would like to return to be able to experience more of the park as it is huge. It takes about a 40 min drive through the park.

A very well organized and well kept Parc! Amazing views, astonishing lakes, rivers and waterfall. A place where to spend a day or a week if you want to camp or simply visit for picnicking. Indeed a place to visit!

We live in the Mauricie area for the past 30 years and we visited this place last summer for the first time.

Relaxing place to visit and spend time with nature.

If in the area, you have to stop by and drive, walk, or bike trough this wonderful place.
