This was my first experience skiing an actual mountain. It was the best time I have had on skii's. The mountain is huge and challenging with gorgeous views of the lake. The Nevada side was closed so the Saturday traffic was extra bad because everyone was on the California side, but that died down after lunch. My friend had never ski'd before our trip and he did great so Heavenly is great for both experienced and beginner skiers. The prices are high so your wallet will definitely see a dent especially if you want to eat and grab a beer.

The mountain is absolutely breathtaking and one of a kind. The conditions were fantastic and there is something for everyone. It’s not an amazing “first time” mountain but very good for anything else

Lift tickets are slightly expensive but worth the price

-20+ lbs of torque all day on your knees/ankles is unhealthy & uncomfortable. I've never been to a ski resort that has NO FOOTRESTS - it also leads to people not using the safety bars ~ 90% of the time
-You can't ski down to the base at Heavenly base, you have to download on the gondola; so when the gondola closes due to high wind, you have to bus over from Cal base or Stagecoach; the buses are slow, infrequent, and unsafely crowded
-We learned the above the hard way, as, unconscionably, there was no staff at the top of the few remaining running lifts to inform people how to get off the mountain or insure their safety (we were almost knocked over by a garbage barrel knocked loose by the wind
-Wait lines for the gondola can be annoyingly long; at the top, there are large staircases to lug your gear down, then a significant uphill trek to the lifts/Tamarack Lodge
-Noticeable lack of ski patrol all over the mountain, which seems covered with oblivious/tentative skiers in need of various kinds of lessons
-High prices for such a small, poorly-run resort
The only thing I can recommend about Heavenly is the view, which is often obscured by bad weather

Been coming here for 21 years and each year gets better

Love the new blue and black runs added this year as well as the improved tree skiing

Does go some way to justify the $150 per day lift pass

Multiple day options not really any saving

Epic mix pass with all the stats is a nice free touch

Skied for 2 days at Heavenly. The Nevada side of the mountain was closed the first day due to a power outage which made the CA slopes much more crowded. Overall the resort staff did an excellent job handling the outage and I still had a fun and safe day on the slopes. Second day was even better with perfect weather and the whole mountain to explore.

Overall impressions: gorgeous views of Lake Tahoe; helpful and available staff; slopes well marked and it was easy to navigate the mountain based upon abilities; plenty of food options; and a good variety of slopes.
