Busy weekend in Kilkenny with bike race and football game so stayed at this out of the way b&b. Room was spacious and clean, breakfast delicious. Hostess was very nice and even had a bottle of wine and chocolates in our room as we mentioned it was our anniversary. Ten minute drive to Kilorglin where we had a great dinner at Nicks and met some nice locals at the pubs. Next day on to the Ring of Kerry and Kilkenny so ended up being a good location.

Gret and Podge made us very welcome at Kilburn House, a renovated and extended former parsonage that doubles as their family home. They are warm and friendly hosts whose personal attention helped us feel right at home. The house itself is ideally suited for touring the Dingle Peninsula and Ring of Kerry. It's also close to Killarney where there's a greater selection of shops and restaurants that either Milltown or Killorglin. Gret has plenty of suggestions for how to vary or supplement the standard list of must-sees. There's also a delightful walk along a country lane the leads from the house into Milltown, where dinner at Larkins' pub is recommended. Depending on the version of Google maps you're using, you may be told (wrongly) that Kilburn House is on the left as you travel out of Milltown towards Killorglin. In fact, it's on the right and easily identified by large stone gates at the entrance to the driveway. But it comes up unexpectedly around a bend in the road where traffic is speeding along. Best to be ready for the turn when it comes!

Very nice owners, wonderful high end farmhouse atmosphere. A lovely walk nearby takes you to an abandoned abbey.

The rooms are lovely and there is a very nice common room. Only negative (for me) is the bed was a little bit too hard.

Highly recommend!

A great old restored manor house, set in a beautiful location. The owner Podge & his wife were very friendly, and gave us a lot of history about the house & the surrounding area.

Our room was spacious, however the mattress was a little uncomfortable.

Being in the location this B&B is in the Internet is unfortunately a problem. It drops out occasionally, & when the Wi-Fi is in service, it has weak bandwidth.

Aside from those issues, the breakfast is fantastic, and overall great value for money.
