We enjoyed our stay however it’s more on the camping side than the glamping side, but that’s just in comparison to other glamping places I’ve stayed. You might argue differently!
Positives: lovely location, back to nature vibe, spacious tent, stove inside ours (but not all I believe).
Negatives: for it to be as good as other sites I’ve stayed in, I would have preferred easier access to water and gas. (There’s a communal area with these in but it can run out). This is just my opinion.
We had lots of bugs in our tent but in fairness I’ve reported that and she said she’d see to it straight away.
The family of 4 in the tent next to us (who kindly shared their fire once the gas had ran out for making teas) only had 1 cup to use between them. Seems an easy thing to fix however.
All in all I enjoyed being there but you do feel a bit left to it. Some will love that!
We have just got back from a fantastic few days here. The owners are lovely, very welcoming and gave us some great recommendations of places to go/eat out etc. The tents are wonderful, with enough space for a couple and a child (a 2 yr old no less!) and all their stuff! The extra facilities are really good; hot showers, compost loos that were clean, well tended and fully functional. Every need had been thought when it came to cooking equipment, including a little bottle of oil and tea towels!
Our son loved exploring the woods and we were surrounded by wildlife, including many birds, brown hares and foxes. The location was perfect; far enough from the farm to feel secluded but close enough to pick up bits and pieces as needed.
And cooking on the open fire using the tripod etc was brilliant! Surprisingly simple too, considering we never had before. It is the ultimate way to bbq and we loved having a fire in the evenings.
Would recommend this to couples and small families looking for a glamping experience that is comfortable and special and still totally connected to its outdoorsy location.
We stayed here in April and had a fabulous time. I arrived on the first night with our two boys (age 4 and 6) with my husband getting the train up on the Friday. Abi, Ian and kids were very welcoming, great facilities, loads of lovely little touches and a lot of fun!
Good set up, plenty to do with the family within a 15 min drive, great woods and fields to play on, farm shop and pub in walking distance.
I have written a full review on mini travellers website.
Highly recommended!
