the young chef previously in Honfleur has mixt some of the best of sud ouest influence withNormandy flavor. The result is original and excellent. The product are of prime quality, the presentation original and elegant. The place is decorated in an off style of bistrot and farmhouse. We had a grzat dinner with wonderful surprise in the wine list.
If ever you are passing near by a stop is a must. Menu changes every week depending on local seasonal supplier

The "menu du jour" is what some call the "blind menu" meaning it's chef's choice based on the market. You can get a 4 or 5 course version. We both got the 4 course and it was fantastic.

We arrived around 7:45 on a Wednesday without a reservation and were seating in one of the last 3 indoor tables.

It was out of our way, as we were driving back to our hotel in a different city, but it was absolutely worth the side trip. If you are in the area, eat here!

One server had some English, so it was a little hard to get the full translation of each course. But general service and ordering was not a problem with my limited French.

What a gem of a place! Small restaurant but with great food. We decided to go for the 'blind menu' which was superb. The chef cooks what he wants/thinks you'll like (tell him of any allergies). If you don't want to do that, the rest of the menu is very good too. I'd definitely return - the town looked quite interesting too (we only went to eat in the restaurant one evening).

We visited this restaurant on our way from Caen to the Charente. We were staying the night close by in a Chambre D'hote and our hosts booked us in as they could not supply us with an evening meal.

The restaurant is simply but quirkily furnished. The service was excellent, very friendly and efficient. The food was super with a first class 'Amuse Bouche' of mussels which was totally unexpected. All of our courses were superb with some unusual but well blended flavours. Reasonably priced menu. A great find. We will return again.

From the amuse bouche (unexpected), the super bread (replenished frequently) to the wonderful desserts everything was superb. To criticise anything in particular would be beyond petty. Chef - superb. Sous-chef - superb. The waitress - superb. Table linen - just that, linen. From the Welcome to the Au Revoir - it's worth the money. Unless money is no object its not somewhere to eat every day (the items on the 3 plate 19 € menu may not be on the main menu) but certainly once a week it's too good to miss. Some little things may cause a tut - but concentrate on what is worthwhile. This is the first time we have eaten here, but it won't be the last (and we live here.) The boat is to be pushed out. Trust me.
