The restaurant looks a little dated and gives you a little bit the feeling that you are in a feeding barn. However as often is the case this is where you can find the good stuff. So if you like Italian food (and even if you don't) and don't mind the ambiance that much you very likely will not be disappointed. Keep in mind however it can be very busy, which is adding to the barnlike feel.

I have stayed at the Hotel Bassetto many times and have always found their restaurant as setting the standard for restaurants in the area. They have a lady making handmade pasta in the dining area every day. Owners are pleasant, service adept and accomodating (except for one guy who has been arrgoant toward me EVERY time).

The restaurant is located in the hotel Bassetto at the entrance of the small city of Ferentino ( a city worth to visit: acropolis, cyclopic walls, roman forum-market, churches, etc.).
The restaurant is clear and proper and the tables are spaciously placed.
The products to prepare the plates are bought only in the area around Ferentino. The pasta is always home made and excellent. The charcoal grill always ready to grill the succulent meat produced in the surrounding hills.
I ate at Bassetto twice during the last 2 weeks . The last time I was there I ate the pasta 'fini fini' (as good as the 'ravioli rossi' I had the last time), then some grilled 'agnello scottadito' and of course a home made desert (a pear baked in pastry with a ricotta sauce).
I drunk a local red wine 'Bolla di Urbano' of the winery Pileum located in Piglio.
The owner very friendly and helpfull told me that if I wanted during a next visit he could even arrange a visit to the winery if I called him one day before. The waiters were competent, friendly and were able to explain the dishes and help you to make your choise.
