My family of 4 stayed at Hotel Bassetto for 9 nights whilst visiting relatives in Ferentino. We had a family room which comprised of 2 adjoining rooms, one with king sized bed and the other with 2 x single beds. The rooms were basic and small, but comfortable beds. Fridge quite small and no kettle or tea/coffee supplied in room. Bathrooms were clean and rooms were serviced daily.

Breakfast was simple and same everyday. Cake, rolls, pastries, cheese, yoghurt and cereal. Coffee was made to order. Breakfast staff were very pleasant.

A very quiet hotel. I think it is a main stop over for soccer teams as we saw 2 young groups having breakfast throughout our stay.

My only major negative was that there was no iron available for use in our room. If we needed items of clothing ironed it was at a charge.

We did not eat at the restaurant as prices seemed a little on the expensive side and there didn't seem to be a kids menu.
Overall a pleasant, clean hotel. Staff were always polite.

We stopped here for a night and it was alright for that. The hotel is clean, the room was small but ok, it even had an air condition. It was very quiet too (no big road close by). I'm not sure how well it's isolated. It didn't seem full and the other guests seemed to be the quiet kind so I can't tell.
The hotel is very old however and would need some serious refurbishing. One of elevators was so old and slow that we thought we'd get stuck. When we tried to walk the stairs (marked with emergency exit sign) we found the doors locked. Only later we figured out that there was another elevator and the main staircase in the other wing of the hotel. We took the stairs from that point on.
If this is the best hotel in the region like mentioned in other reviews, I really don't want to see the others.
The breakfast buffet was very good though, offering more than the usual cornetti and yoghurt. There were different kinds of cornflakes/cereals, ham, cheese, bread, fresh fruit and cakes. Very satisfying!

The very positive thing about the hotel is the staff. They are very welcoming, extremely polite at any time of the day... BUT

The hotel itself is old and needs refurbishment. The bathrooms are dark beige tiles old fashioned showers... the rooms have old carpet which is greyish and I dread to think when it was last replaced. I had to wear shoes the whole time in the room.

Please invest in what could be a very pleasant hotel. Thank you

This hotel is probably the best in the area, despite its age. For sure the food in the restaurant is the highlight, with delicious local dishes and local products. If you're visiting the surrounding...

We spent a week in Ferentino last August, and we chose to base ourselves in the Hotel Bassetto. A very wise decision! I was travelling with my husband and son, and we had two connecting double rooms. They were extremely comfortable, and very clean. The bathrooms were spacious, and well equipped. Most importantly for travel in Italy in August, the air conditioning in both rooms was effective, quiet, and we could regulate it up or down as required.
There is a buffet for breakfast every morning, but the best experience we had in the hotel restaurant was one evening when we enjoyed a family dinner. The food was superb, the service efficient and very friendly, with a good wine list. The eventing represented extremely good value for money.
The crowning glory of the Hotel Bassetto has to be the staff though. Friendly, approachable, charming too, and of course happy to help. Next time we want to stay somewhere in Ferentino, we'll be booking back here.

Room Tip: Call the hotel and book directly to get the best deal and the room that suits you
