What you need to know with this particular villa is that it is the closest one to the night clubs that finish at four am so if your a light sleeper forget it , grab another room also the pumping equipment for the main resort pool is in your back yard so sitting in your private area around the presidential villa pool is quite a noisy experience , if either of these things don't worry you then go for it the villa is good value , spacious and comfy

Don't get me wrong. The area of Railay Bay is stunningly beautiful! (see attached photos) but the hotel is a bit of a let down. And so is the service. 45 minutes waiting for a boat which was ordered prior to arrival (no apology from reception). The check in was quick and efficient. The rooms were ok-ish, a bit worn down already - which just shows that maintenance works should be performed regularly. The one HUGE flaw of the place - the swimming pool is tiny! No need for a large lawn in the middle of the hotel when a pool would have been so much more interesting. Another aspect worth mentioning (A tsunami warning was issued 2 days after we left this hotel) Is that any evacuation of the area is difficult. This is a completely secluded area reachable only by boat. Evacuation to higher grouns includes very steep climbing. Power shortages were also common. If i were to reconsider - this would be a daytrip to see the rock formations and chill on the beach - but NOT a destination to stay in itself.

Room Tip: chose the highest room possible!

After looking at the other options in Railay, I think it's the best resort in Railay. The resort is well kept with a nice pool and swim up bar. The staff were friendly, but did seem to be standing around a lot in the evening when the hotel was looking to fill its restaurant which always seemed empty. Don't be too late to the buffet breakfast or there won't be much to choose from. Our room was huge and the giant soaking tub was almost comical to fill, but fun to enjoy! The mangroves in front of the hotel are not much to look at, but that's the primary view on the east side and since there aren't many options for the west side (only a 5 min walk away) you just get to enjoy the walk to the beach vs. a view instead. The cliffs are gorgeous on all areas of Railay and a pleasure to look at no matter where you are. The tide was out when we arrived via ferry from Koh Phi Phi, so we had to carry our luggage in from the boat - quite an adventure in not slipping with 3 weeks/40lbs worth of clothes in a suitcase on your shoulder - so if you think you might have a hard time with the trek in, maybe make arrangements with the hotel to see if they can cart your bags in or have someone at the boat to help unload. They were very helpful in coordinating our boat and shuttle to Krabi airport and we weren't allowed to even touch our bags they were so intent on doing the lifting :)
Railay itself is breathtaking! One of our favorite stops and the most pristine, quiet beaches and phenomenal cliff views. We absolutely loved our stay and so glad we made it part of our trip!

Room Tip: We were glad we were on the ground floor...less hiking up stairs and still very quiet. The rooms ap...

The hotel was very new and modern with large, well appointed rooms with generous balconies offering glimpses of the gorgeous mountains. Definitely the newest and most luxurious hotel on Railay (possibly with the exception of the much more expensive Rayvadee which was only on view to guests). The hotel looks spectacular at night and the grounds, whilst not expansive are beautifully maintained. Whilst the hotel is on the East side, it has a lovely infinity pool (about 15m long) which overlooks the sea and is only 350m walk over to the West side beach. Only 2 minutes walk from shops, bars, restaurants and cafes and 10 minutes walk to the Princess Cave. The hotel needs to staff the pool bar and possibly offer a cocktail happy hour to attract customers as often we were the only ones in the pool and would have ordered drinks were there an attendant to service us. Otherwise we were very happy at Bhu Nga Thani. Do take the rope climb up to the look out if you are fit and adventurous, but we warned your clothes will be very muddy!

I loved this hotel – made our trip!
Loved, loved, loved Railay – pure paradise, my fave beach destination in asia by a mile. Could not recommend it enough.
We visited in mid April this year - we were unimpressed with Phuket and left early for Railay, wanting less crowded beaches and bogan tourists but nothing too honeymoon-ish . . . we love eating out and downing the odd sunset cocktail.

Gorgeous setting, great pool, gardens were beautifully maintained, rooms were just beautiful. Had that perfect mix of luxury without losing the personality of Thailand.
Shamed the surrounding hotels in Railay by a mile – every time we returned to our hotel or room we were so happy we’d made the right choice. Oh the smugness!
Great pool for lounging by too. We stayed in a deluxe elegant twin room – spacious room, very very clean, amazingly comfy beds and shower to die for.
Location is great – close to all the restaurants, 5 mins walk to either of the beaches.
I was hesitant given the longboat thing as I had a lot of luggage (followed on from a work trip!)- but it was easy and pretty seamless. The transfer to the airport was great too – worth organising via the hotel.
Fronts onto the mangroves, as most place do, but not an issue at all.
Staff were good – no complaints here. And breakfast was great too - buffet.
Our only minor grizzle would be the prices of the spa/massages – but easily solved as there are plenty of other places to go in Railay.

We got a really good last minute rate on their website too – about 65% discount if I remember correctly. Serious bliss – I’m definitely coming back!
