Sigh! It was just day before (9th June) when we were amidst nature in a very well maintained, lovely & homely homestay welcomed by Mr Robin and Mrs Mallige. What a time we had! We were a family of 8 plus 2 children (1 yr old each) and had given them very short notice of our plan to stay there. Though generally they do not take bookings at such a short notice, they made an exception and we would be thankful for that. Mr Robin went all the way to Siddhpura to make arrangements for veg and non-veg lunch for us in 2 hours time. And the lunch was super delicious!

Such warm people they were, actually gave meaning to the term 'home-stay' :) Everything there was just perfect! the rooms, the plantations, the food, the hospitality, the cleanliness, the other arrangements! Not a single point at which I can point my finger at!

I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Coorg. A must go place.

Mrs & Mr Cariappa - If you are reading this, then three cheers to you both and your homestay! :) We will surely visit you both again sometime and hopefully we would be able to stay longer and hear more interesting stories from the both of you!

We had a lovely stay at Polaycad Bungalow. Mallige and Robin are great hosts. Robin has some great stories to share about the history and culture of the place.

We travelled on a whim and stayed a night over. The food was fantastic! My wife just loved the chicken and the mutton dish was to die for. Mallige very generously even gave us the recepie!

I highly recommend you call ahead and check with the hosts if you have any special requests for meat or vegetarian food. They are happy to accomodate.

The house is peppered with some beautiful antiques and is neat and well maintained! The mornings are fantastic.

If you plan to trek around, please let your hosts know. They will help you with directions, locations and some local advice and might even show your around themselves when they have a moment.

All in all we had a great stay!

If you like a round of golf, Robin may be able to help set something up for you. Call ahead.

A note about homestays. Please use the opportunity to learn something about the history of the home and consider this an opportunity to learn more about your hosts.

Room Tip: It gets packed, plan in advance. :-).

We stayed at the Cariaaps home stay as a part of our family holiday. With my 76 year old mother in law, a fully vegetarian family and my wifes' love for nature We needed a special place. We found that in Polycaud bunglow!

The old plantation bunglow, with renovated bedrooms and bathroom facilities for a modern day traveller can comfortably accomodate 4 families. The facilities are well laid out, maintained very clean, with lazy verandas and smiling green lawns in front and a sloping plantation which slides into hundreds of trees and coffee beans.

Mr.Cariappa is his attentive best, takes interest in every little detail and shares a lot of family anecdotes and coorg stories. Ms.Mallige, his charming wife, is a hostess par excellence! In 3 days we were pampered with such delicious vegetarian fare, so unique to the Coorg cousine and my wife spent as much time noting down recipes as eating them.

The bunglow has history and class. With Mallige. My MOL would have long conversations with mallige, we would go for long walks and plantation tours besides Coorg explorations and fially come back for yet another indulgent meal!

It was truly home away from home. Any day I would recommend the Policaud Bunglow to families- especially with elders and vegetarians. There is magic and Mallige waiting there!

Room Tip: good place to stay put, write or paint leisurely!
