Lockdown excellence

Needing an essential visit to the local agricultural college, we couldn’t find anywhere able to provide dinner. Loftsome Bridge to the rescue. Very comfortable rooms and unbelievable room service dining. Separate courses delivered piping hot by the proprietor. Just like a restaurant but COVID secure. Many thanks. We’ll definitely be staying again.

Anniversary weekend

Our first trip Yorkshire. We booked only a week before and the reviews looked good.

Nigel and his team were very attentive. It’s a little out the way and not in walking distance to a shop. The nearest village Howden is a few miles away.

We stayed in a cottage, comfortable and very spacious. The bed was comfortable although it is quite high. I think all that was missing was maybe a mini fridge.

We had food and drinks which were all very nice. Hand sanitizers were available and at no point did we feel concerned.

Would we return, yes most definitely

A perfect getaway

We stayed in a beautiful cottage room last week for two nights for our 26th wedding anniversary. What a find! The room was everything you could want, lovely bathroom, comfortable bed and beautiful views both over the courtyard and over the lake at the back. The hotel is a good base for visiting sightseeing places not too far away. We loved it so much we enquired about staying another night but sadly, it was fully booked. All the more reason to visit and stay longer next time! An amazing find which will be recommended to family and friends and we will always have happy memories of our anniversary.

Excellent

We visited this hotel and restaurant with friends. Having looked around the area outside and inside we were really pleased.
Even during these uncertain times the service and the food were exceptional nothing was too much trouble and everyone was friendly would definitely recommend this place and definitely will be going again.

Needs a few tweaks

We had a recent visit and was excited to be back. We have been coming for over 20 years and have recommended the restaurant to many people including family who booked the whole restaurant for their wedding anniversary a few years ago. I have always found that the 3 courses although fabulous value was a little too much so was happy at the changes to the new menu however I was disappointed a little. The food was as ever delicious but the portion sizes were not very generous. I had the cod but this did not come with vegetables, there was samphire but this was more of a garnish. It would have been nice to have the option of vegetables even if this was a side dish. The presentation was not a patch on the usual standard as the desserts are usually a thing of beauty and worthy of a photograph but this time presentation was lack lustre. Very very sad as we don’t know if we will be returning, but would like to wish Nigel & his team the very best.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, all feedback is appreciated.
We were pleased to read you liked the option to have 2 courses rather than 3, we listened to our diners and recently introduced this option with our set menu.
I was sorry to hear that on this occasion our usual standards were not met, we pride ourselves on excellent presentation so we were disappointed to hear this. Our cod is served with samphire as the flavours complement each other, all of the ingredients are chosen by our chef to bring out the best in each other. Extra side portions of vegetables are available, I do apologise that you were not made aware of this during your visit.
We hope that you return soon so that we can redeem ourselves.
