I've read other critical reviews of this hotel and smile, and wonder if the reviewers have ever stayed in overpriced central Parisian hotels that offer a lot less than this venue. This hotel is by a large pond in a very pleasant residential area of St Remy. It is about 600 meters from the RER and then 40 minutes from central Paris. The rooms here cost about 70 euros, so given that access to Paris is so convenient it is very good value for money.

The staff are very welcoming, and the rooms are small, with newly refurbished shower rooms, but the bedroom decor is tired. There is a small but comfortable bar in the reception area which we used, and a pleasant terrace outside which we used last year when the weather was much better.

The restaurant was nearly full on a Monday night in September, mostly locals and business people, obviously there as its good value for money and the food is excellent, with a good choice of traditional and new French dishes. We had a long chat with the chef who is the owner's nephew, and he is very enthusiastic about food, quality and variety, which was evident from the meal we had, and the number of French diners in on a Monday night.

We travel a great deal in France a know what to expect in value for money hotels such as this, and love this one. If others want "perfection" then pay twice as much and stay in some anodyne chain in some dreary suburb, but we will stick with character.

Was just as expected - comfortable bed, good food, wine and hospitality.
Good value will be there again on the 25th to enjoy all over again
Much better than the usual anonymous global chain

We were only here for one night.
On arrival the outside of the hotel was cold and unwelcoming, quite dirty and unkept. The flower borders full with weeds and one large flower pot was full with cigarette butts - first impressions were certainly not good and we wondered what we would find inside..

However, once inside it was as tired as it was on the outside, the chairs and sofa in the reception/bar area were heavily stained and can do with a good clean - but we received a warm and friendly welcome from the receptionist and were given our room key.

Up the grubby staircase, through an equally somewhat grubby passage way to our room. The room was small with hardly any room to move and it would benefit from a good clean, not just vacuming the carpet, but attantion needs to made to the overall cleaniness ie: dusting round and behind bedside lights, skirting boards etc...and making sure that cobwebs are removed.. The bathroom was newly fitted with a nice basin and a good shower, small but functional

We also had a reasonable meal in the evening with excellent service from Matthew who works very hard. However, this venue can benefit from some additional good and professional staff, but it seems that people are not willing to work as they, {as told by the manager} received more money from the state. This is a great shame as this venue could be excellent.

It can also benefit from a complete refurb as the decor is way outdated and in places very shabby - butnot chic! But most imprtantly of all, if insufficient funds for a complete refurb, do make the hotel more - much more! "welcoming", steam clean the chairs in the reception/bar area {or paint them white/cream and get them re-upholstered} Lose the awful yellow woodchipped wallpaper, make sure the pictures hang straight {attention to detail...} paint the stairs white/cream and install better lighting, as going up these stairs is quite creepy!

We didn't sleep at all well, the bed was most uncomfortable and breakfast taken in the ballroom/conference room was a joke!
Conclusion: would we stay here again? No thanks

Pleasant location adjacent to more of a small dam than a lake. Friendly enough staff who all work as if they are covering for a friend rather than wanting to help you. Tired small room, but clean bathroom. Dinner at the restaurant was such a let down if you're after decent French food. Also sampled the local Italian + Chinese restaurants, both average. Breakfast very simple but nice. Cheap train ride into Paris though.

We stayed here as a stopver as we were flying from Orly airport. This is a charming little hotel with decent rooms and good food. Nice and quiet and only a half hour's drive from the centre of Paris
