If you want good snorkeling, you need to go in the morning, early. On two mornings of our vacation we went to Concha Perla prior to breakfast and it was peaceful and the water was clear. In the late afternoon all h..l breaks loose. This is when the sea lions are lying across the path and the locals use it as the local swimming pool. We went twice in the morning and twice in the late afternoon and saw the pattern. You do not need a guide to snorkel here but you do need to bring your own equipment. On one of the mornings I got some photos of an octopus in the water near the pier where you enter the water.

Nice snorkeling! Baby black tip reef sharks, marine iguanas, turtles and many other fish....
It's easy to enter the water and it's very clear.

This is such a great spot for a swim in and snorkeling that has to be visited as many times as you can. Early morning there are not many people and sea lions are always hanging around.

We had great expectativas about this place, but when we were arriving, around 50 students were getting there and there was no space for the people who was doing snorkeling, our group and the students.
It has to be someone that regulates, how many have to be, we can not enjoyed, when we want to go out, we can not do it, because of all the students, we have to shout, Hold, so they gave us space to go out.
What a dangerous space!!!

This was kind of an add on snorkeling trip as several of the people in my tour group who didn't want to go to the beach went here for a last snorkel on Isabela. It was okay and saw a bunch of fish and 1 turtle. There were sea lions there but there were all out of the water. it's a pretty limited area as parts leading to the harbor or the mangroves are roped off.
