Spent two fabulous holidays at these apartments which are laid out on a lovely lawned garden. Clean and we'll equipped. A great pool and pool bar. A two minute walk from a sandy beach. Plenty shops and tavernas in close vicinity of the Ostria. Hope to return one day.

Stayed: May 2017

My 3rd visit to this fabulous place, returning after a two year absence and it was better than ever. I can't really add much to the other reviews. The family are so welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is excellent, towels changed 3 times during my week there, sheets changed twice. It's a peaceful oasis, especially near the end of season.

I'll definitely return!

Another wonderful 2 weeks in Skiathos spent at the Ostria Hotel , what more can I say that hasnt been said already by many very satisfied people , I can only endorse all the nice comments regarding this hotel and owners and their family , they all do their utmost to make certain you enjoy your experience.
Everything runs so smoothly from being picked up at the airport in the Black London cab and 15 minutes later you are at your holiday destination, cases taken up to room and the holiday begins , lovely room with a gorgeous outlook to the gardens and the hills, rooms cleaned so regularly with no fuss, lovely varied breakfast, beach two minute walk, tavernas a plenty within five minute walk, bus stop a minute away to take you to town or the bottom of the island , lovely pool to relax around with a very cool Mythos, sounds like heaven ,well it is,
Thanks again Anna and best wishes to all of the family and staff, enjoy your break over the winter
Best Regards Phil & Ruth

Room Tip: All rooms are good ground floor or 1st floor depends on your preference, view back and front excellent

It was in 2013 that we discovered The Ostria. We have returned there for a two week stay every year since, including in September 2017.

We love the peace and laid-back Greek tranquillity that the hotel offers in its small sized building but beautiful and spacious grounds located in the valley of Platanias, Agia Paraskevi.

As every other reviewer points out, the Mathinou family who own this hotel are totally in tune with what their guests require. They offer a genuine, friendly service, spotless accommodation and a holiday experience second to none.

As we only found out this year, Anna explained that Dad Makis started his working life as a baker. That explains the wonderful apple and cinnamon pastries or fresh croissants that appeared at many a leisurely breakfast. On another day we returned from a morning out to find freshly made moussaka awaiting us in our room while other guests received similar thoughtful gifts. As ever, Mom Litza was always on hand to see that everything was ship-shape and that guests would be totally happy.

Every morning we made a point of being first for breakfast at 8am to enjoy the cool, peaceful mornings and listen to the sounds of a Greek morning through the open doors of the breakfast room. After a morning or more of exploration and we returned to find the pool area too hot, as it mostly was this year, we made use of the dappled shade of the gardens for a leisurely afternoon.

An addition this year was the Ostria’s own ex-London cab to collect and take guests to the airport. It was definitely the source of much curiosity and envy at Skiathos Airport where onlookers perhaps thought of us as VIPs headed somewhere special. We were - The Ostria.

Thank You family and staff, Nikos, Ranja, girls and boys, for another super holiday. See you next year. Our flight is booked. Phil and Sue.

We've been here several times and the Ostria just gets better and better. Rooms are clean and well maintained, the pool and gardens are as beautiful as ever but the best bit of Ostria is always the people there. Not just the family, who are always helpful and pleasant, but also the many friends we have made over the years. Come to Ostria and leave with new friends or meet old friends again. That's the beauty of the place and why people come back year after year. A great holiday destination and a home from home.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good but the upgraded superior rooms are fabulous.
