This is one of the worst experience in a Mexico "Magic town" hotel, since we arrived, room smell was bad and moldy, but we didn't expected that during night a horrible human waste smell start coming from bathroom, besides mold and disgusting smell, you can add that the main water pump of the hotel is located inside the hotel just beside rooms ending in 1 and 2, so during all night pump starts/shut down at least every 1.5 hours, not enough we found that staying in a 5 star hotel (Camino Real Pachuca) located just 25min from Real del Monte was just 2usd more expensive that Paraíso Real Hotel. My recommendation, avoid staying in this hotel and do a quick 25min road to visit this beautiful town.

Room Tip: Avoid staying here

The hotel is located just in the right side of the main church, it is a good hotel but expensive, we were in the 4th level and it is a little noisy, the hot water is not enough because only was hot for 10 minutes or less. They have cable TV, and the WiFi in the 4th floor is poor and is not possible use it. They offer black coffee in the morning for free

Real del Monte is a beautiful old mining town that has changed its primary economic activity to tourism. Pristine in Mexican culture compared to other popular tourist destinations like San Miguel de Allende or Querétaro as it's less crowded and the prices are still low. Most of the tourism is from Mexico City residents, and some backpackers. I think that will likely find some trouble if you don't speak Spanish as not many people are English-speaking, but the inhabitants of R de M are most of the time eager to help.

Real has a cold climate compared to most of Mexico, temperature in summer rarely exceed 80F/25 during the day. Rain is regular in this town. Be prepared accordingly.

We liked very much this hotel. Reduced in price and more like a BNB than to a hotel. Clean but expect no frills accordingly to the price: no chocolate under the pillow, no pool and no fitness center. You get free Internet access, but the signal is only available in the front desk, not in your room.

If you are handicapped forget about this hotel (unless you get one of the two rooms in the lower level). As with most of the town located in a hill: it's not wheelchair accessible and full of stairs without ramps.

Located just a few steps from the town's main church and to many of the best restaurants Mineral del Monte (town's official name) this hotel is in a perfect location and the parking is included (a tough thing on the small streets).

Remarkably this hotel is attended and (presumably) owned by a young couple that are eager to make recommendations based on their own experience and are not like in other places based on paid opinions/recommendations. They were nice and ready to help us.

If you're sensitive to the noise beware of the main church's clock bells. Locations near a church in Mexico towns will listen them for sure. Request for a room with lesser noise, bring your own earplugs or choose a hotel away from a Church.

Room Tip: Request to a second-floor room, with view of the main plaza. If you are sensitive to the noise or handicapped choose the lowest level of the hotel.
