The views in this hotel is just breathtaking also it's a winter spot for skiing and we went in summer still it was an amazing holiday and the hotel was empty but nice the rooms are a bit small
It's just feel like a home and the staff are very friendly

Good news/bad news: the hotel looks and feels the same as it was at our last visit nearly ten years ago.
It is well (family) run, comfortable, serves good meals, is in an absolute quiet location and the rooms facing south offer a nice view of the valley below. They do take special care of children (so the pool area can get noisy...) and do allow dogs (no problems noted). The rooms, especially if you go for one of their large suites which can accommodate 4 people in two bedrooms, are spacious and a few even offer your own sauna in the bathroom! They offer a shuttle service to the ski-lift, but - as long as there is enough natural snow - you can after a short walk ski to one of the lifts and via one run ski back directly to the hotel.
Over the years the rooms have been aging and one day new carpets and new furniture will be due. And while the "apothecary soap" is nice for hand and body, providing a set of shampoos/conditioner in the shower should nowadays be standard at the ****level...

Room Tip: Definitely go for a south facing room;

Dear family MJN,
thank you for taking time and sending your recommendations. Thank you too that you visited us again after some years, so you kept us still in a good, recommendable mind.
Concerning the guest supplies we are thinking about offering you more space in the bathroom for your personal duties. We will re-think it!
We hope you enjoyed a nice time and are glad to see you soon!

The hotel was at the top in the early '90s now show signs of ageing but quality of service, superlative food and ambience still makes the place wonderful.
Whatever you like doing, skiing, spa, golf, hiking it's a great location in any season.
On top if the Euro is good value in Austria is even better worth a visit

I recently spent with my family a 4-day vacation period in the beautiful St. Oswald Hotel. I can confirm that all the staff at reception, bar and restaurant was extremely kind. We stayed in a very nice junior suite: the room was wide, the bathroom extremely clean and comfortable with both a shower (quite huge) and a bath tub. The quality of the restaurant was good, the only issue was the time between the courses, too long for my 3-years old daughter; however, she could wait in a spacious recreation room, very close to the restaurant, where two nice baby-sitters were available from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. The wellness area is small but well-furnished, with a swimming pool (the water temperature – 30°C – is a little bit cold for infants…), an efficient Turkish bath and a small sauna (during the late afternoon, the steam bath can be performed with a “badmeister”). The hotel location is strategic, in the middle of beautiful Nockberge park and very close to the skiing area. St. Oswald hotel is a perfect location for a vacation period in Carinthia; it is not a classic “family hotel”, but it can be a great place for a family with school-aged children.

A beautifully located hotel situated on scenic hills directly 1km midway of two ski lifts. This hotel advertises access from hotel to ski lifts which is incorrect, you either walk 1km or the hotel shuttle takes you. But the shuttle driver is only permitted to take you to the top lift in the village he refused to take us to the lower more convenient lift lower down!!! To return to the hotel on skis requires off piste skills from run 19! The rooms are comfortable but very outdated and in dire need of refurbishment. Bath contains the shower and curtain and the hot water was very intermittent despite complaints. No shampoos or condiments just a bottle of soap dispenser. Rooms are serviced promptly and you can regulate the temp yourself. No proper drying rails just a small radiator in the bathroom totally inadequate for wet ski gear with a notice fire hazard do not cover! The heating in the common areas was poor and a small fire in the lobby was fed with a few logs during the evening which looked nice but was ineffective. The bar area was very modern and the barman Eddie a true character
Who charmed everyone but generally the restaurant staff were a little drab who seemed to hurry every course and process you as if you were keeping them up after 9pm!
We were told that we could not order a bottle of wine outside the dinning room and had to purchase by the glass from the bar!!!!
There did not seem to be any managerial presence during our 5 night stay which could be the reason for so many non-sensical house rules.
Food was very good overall but do not dare sit anywhere other than your allocated table and be especially aware of where you sit for snacks after afternoon ski. We were moved twice.
The car park is outside and a steep walk from the hotel so offload everything including skis etc on arrival. No garage parking available.
The ski room does not cater for more than four people at a time and has one bench!!!! Worse still the ski boot warmers were not working or were not switched on during our entire stay.
The pool area was pleasant but water temp on the low side and steam room saunas a little cramped.
This is overall a family hotel, lots of children and very noisy at all hours, not suitable for couples and you get what you pay for with no frills whatsoever.
The slopes on the St Oswald side out of the town were fantastic, not over crowded and well groomed. It's a pity that this hotel lacks vision and would rather exercise austerity and implement silly rules at the expense of customer satisfaction!
This area is massive and on driving around there are many Hotels in the vicinity so shop first and compare.
