This hotel/resort is a prime location. You get to have almost everything you ever want in a vacation all in one place. This place provides the unlimited food, pool, beach resort, spa, nightly and daily entertainment for families and fun activities next door. Diamante is literally next door to them, providing the ziplining, animal sanctuary, botanical garden and coffee tours. You get the breathtaking views of the forest and the beach shore from the ziplines.

They have some good food. I am not happy about some limitations in availability of some restaurants. They are first come first serve and their capacity for some restaurants are small. Servers are pleasant. Drinks are watered down. Pictures taken by their photographers are $15 each. Ridiculous. It feels like they don’t really want to make money because who would pay for pictures that expensive when you can print your own pictures at home these days.

Another drawback is the limitation of the devices for wifi use. Only 2 sessions/devices per room at the same time.

I strongly advise that you buy merch from outside or in Coco beach. Prices are ridiculous in stores right next to the hotel. $40 for all skin products such as sunscreen and aloe vera. Glad I brought my own. Tshirts and coffees too. Buy them when you go on excursions.

Thank you for letting us know your impressions in regards of your stay at Riu Guanacaste.

Although we are glad to read that our prime location with breath-taking views, entertainment and the unlimited food were to your expectations, we are really concern to know that you were not able to fulfil your satisfaction.

Moreover, regarding the system “first come first serve” in our them restaurant, we would like to point out that this was introduced based on the results obtained through our customer surveys, with the aim of shortening long waiting times. We lament if you are not happy with the system and about the capacity of our restaurants.

We would like to have been informed about your concerns during your vacation since it’s a pity that you left the hotel with a totally opposite impression of what we are always try to convey.

We do hope to host you again in one of our worldwide hotels!

I’ve stayed at resorts all over the world and this is clearly just here to flip rooms. Everything is dated the pool is dirty and poorly maintained. Who ever the hotel manger should be replaced. It doesn’t look like they have spent any money maintaining the property. The booze and food are as cheap as you can get. It’s like they are running a school cafeteria for most meals. Always bees and fruit flies at most bars. So in my opinion take your money somewhere they put money back into the establishments.

A resort with out pool side service. Needless to say I’ll not be a returning RiU resort member.

We are disappointed to read that we could not meet your taste with our culinary & beverage offer. Also, we are sorry for the inconveniences you mention in the pool and bars, please be assured that this is not characteristic of our property. Our staff is working daily in the maintenance of the property and the swimming pools. Regarding the pool, they clean it on a daily basis and the pH is checked throughout the day.

Furthermore, in RIU we take very seriously the maintenance of our hotels, so we are constantly renovating our portfolio in order to increase the quality of our offer and satisfy our guests. We lament that we could not convince you with our property.

We assured you that your perception has been shared with the appropriate department to take action if necessary.

The resort is beautiful , but the commode in my bathroom was dirty and had dried up vomit or stool on it. It was cleaned after we complained. There was spiderweb next to my entrance
The food was tasty , but not high quality. I, My daughter and my boyfriend’s mother end up with nausea and stomach ache, and diarrhea. Resort stuff is good and efficient , not a lot of smiling tho . Beach is wonderful . Pool is great! Drinks are not very strong, but I think it is good to keep all guest from getting very drunk.

Thank you for the time you have taken to write us about your experience in our hotel.

First of all, we are delighted that you found our staff good and efficient, and that our resorts was to your liking.

On the other hand, we are very sorry to hear that you experienced on arriving to your room you experienced an issue with the commode of your bathroom. Fresh and clean accommodations are essential for every guest and we apologize for this oversight in your room.

At the same time, it is very disappointing to read your comment regarding the stomach discomfort you believe your daughter and your boyfriend’s mother contracted while eating in one of our restaurants and we truly hope that they have fully recovered in the meantime. We would have been glad to have been informed about all your inconveniences, since we are offering medical services in our premises. Please note that it is always very difficult to determine the cause of the poisoning without a Doctor´s diagnose and especially in far-flung and exotic destinations it can come from another source. Recently we have not received any reports from the hygiene department, nor any medical report from a guest detecting spoiled food.

Your feedback is absolutely essential to helping us improve products and services, and has been forwarded to the hotel management team for further consideration.

We truly hope for another opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

It was a beautiful hotel with a lovely private beach. However, the food was subpar. Buffets are usually not the best, but this one was not good at all. Lots of options of poorly prepared food. The nice restaurants were slightly better and were first come first serve, which meant pausing your fun to wait in a 20-40min. line to make a later reservation when the restaurant opened. There was also lack of communication on how to get towels. Other than that, the rooms had nice views and were nice despite a dangerously high and slippery tub/shower. We did get to see many monkeys and iguanas up close and personal around the property.

We traveled to Costa Rica in March for two weeks, great country very friendly people and alot to see.
Hotel: rooms really nice and comfortable, swimming pool very dirty,also around the swimming pool dirty cups and plates for three days or more never gets cleaned.
Food: we had massive problems with food as we both vegetarians, we spoke to the hotel about the issue but nothing got done about it, food contamination is really bad FOOD NOT LABELLED when we spoke to hotel management nothing got done about it, also Tui reps couldn't do anything about it, if you vegetarian clearly you shouldn't go for this hotel.

We are truly sorry to hear about the disappointments you endured during your visit in regards our gastronomy.

In order to avoid possible misunderstandings, we would like to explain that food contamination refers to food that has been corrupted by another substance, which is not the case that you described.

Conversely, cross-contact is when an Allergenic-free food or food product is exposed to an Allergenic-containing ingredient or food – making it unsafe for people with a food allergy to eat.

Please rest assured that in our buffets each type of food is located by type and labelled, and it has its own utensils for serving.

However, we greatly care about our guests with food allergy and we are very aware that there are many sources of cross-contact at foodservice locations. For this reason, in case a guest has a diet with special characteristics or is suffering a food allergy, we kindly encourage to contact in the moment of booking the travel agency or our Call Center in case of a direct booking to ensure that there is a service available that meets the guest´s needs so that, on the day of the arrival, we have food with the right characteristics.

Please accept our apologies for that and be assured that those circumstances do not reflect the wonderful guest experience we strive to provide each and every one of our valued guests.
