We stayed over night for a Birthday treat. The room was very comfortable and warm with a view of Rutland Water, and with a well appointed on-suite. The welcome at reception was professional and efficient. The bar and restaurant staff in the hotel were attentive. The grounds of the hotel were well maintained and a joy to walk round. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay.

This was the second time we stayed here and the previous time, we stayed in a top-end room. That wasn't good value at all, but the cheaper rooms are much better value as they're good rooms. We were upgraded because of a birthday treat, but the room upgrade is basically for the view.

Our room was very comfortable and staff very friendly. Bed linen and toiletries are top quality and the room very comfortable.

The public spaces are very pleasant with a really airy drawing room and a cosy bar.

Breakfast was outstanding with delicious bread and lovely eggs from the hotel's own chickens.

My husband and I had been given a generous voucher as a gift to use at Hambleton Hall in Christmas 2016. We both agreed we would certainly use the gift towards celebrating our Coral Wedding anniversary in December 2017. On arrival we were both greeted by exceptional staff who congratulated us on our anniversary. We both knew then we had chosen the perfect place for our celebration. We were guided to take a seat beside a roaring fire which was very welcome on a very cold evening where we enjoyed cocktails and made our choices from the personally named menus. We both chose the Tasting Menu and my husband chose a magnificent bottle of red wine, very expensive but we thought we were worth it. The restaurant food was exceptional and the waiting staff extremely knowledgeable, attentive but very discreet allowing us to enjoy each course and we were certainly not rushed. We enjoyed coffee in the lounge where we felt completely relaxed and content with ourselves. A most enjoyable evening and we came away wondering why this hotel has not yet received two Michelin stars. We have have dined at many Michelin two star restaurants and Hambleton Hall deserves this accolade too.

Family meal over Christmas with beautiful decorations adding to the festive environment. Attentive well trained staff. Excellent food, all creating a lovely atmosphere and experience - we return again and again.

Room Tip: Traditionally furnished, very comfortable, with views and photos on the website - we've stayed in several and never been disappointed.

We have been visiting Hambleton Hall for over 25 years. We have, without exception always had a wonderful time, looked after by an amazing team Who go out of their way to make sure each and every guest is treated like royalty. However, nothing could have prepared us for our most recent visit. 2017 has been a challenging year for us and there is still one great big hoop to jump through before we get to 1 January 2018 so we decided to treat ourselves to some luxury and booked a one night stay in the lake room. To go into detail about every little thing the team did to look after us and make sure we had a memorable stay would turn this review into a novel. Suffice to say last night was quite possibly, the best hotel stay we have ever had.So Team HH - thank you.
In short Hambleton Hall is a wonderful hotel, with a fantastic team and a beautiful setting. Whether you are going for the 1st time or the 31st time you will have an amazing time.
