Description: Refurbished in September 2009, this stylish gastropub in Bletchingley is straight out of the pages of a glossy Sunday supplement. With its original beams, huge fireplaces, slate-grey walls and artfully framed pictures the Whyte Harte Hotel is seriously chic mix of old and new. Steeped in a history that dates back to the reign of Richard II, this cosy restaurant has a half country club, half home-away-from-home vibe and we love the classic Brit menu which is complimented by a range of real ales, rustic sharing platters and small tasting plates. Dont miss the rump steak burger with mozzarella, smoked bacon and chunky chips; and the oat and ginger fruit crumble with custard.

We loved it. A very friendly, welcome. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening meal was very good, and the breakfast superb. Really it was a most enjoyable overnight stay. Even found a couple of geocahes within walking distance.
Love the oak beams and the cosiness, a really comfortable bed, so had a really good nights sleep.
We are a couple, and a friend came with us, and she also enjoyed her stay, in fact she wants to know how they cook their fried eggs so perfectly!!

This 'old' coaching in is presented in an attractive and comfortable style, retaining features of it's historic past as a traveller's rest in the days of stage coaches and carriages.
The large bar has comfortable seating and there is a very attractive restaurant area. The menu for evening meals is impressive and at fair prices. The highlight of an overnight stay is the outstanding quality and content of the 'full English' breakfast.
Accommodation is somewhat dated and not impressive but does offer all the usual facilities, clean and with good quality bedding. Fair value for money.

It was OK but nothing to write home about! Typical Menu, Service a bit slow. The main problem was that I felt it was all a bit below them, and they were doing us a favour!?

This is a solid pub food sort of place - my steak was cooked how I'd asked for it (unlike so many pubs which insist on over-cooking them), the chips were spot-on and the blue cheese sauce was tasty; my partner's scampi were good, too. We didn't stay for dessert, as we were pretty full after the main courses!
The wine list was about what you'd expect from a pub, and we drank beer - they had 2 real ales on tap.

The dinner I had was lovely. Home made chicken, leek and ham pie. The best I have ever tasted. It was served with veg, potatoes and gravy and delicious. Followed by chocolate brownie and ice cream. Friendly staff and worth a visit.
