Great hotel with a good location. The hotel took us to the train station, had breakfast and the employees were very nice to work with. Our tour company had pick up and drop off here also and that is great. Would stay here again, the front desk had all the answers we needed with directions and suggestions and so helpful.

We were so very impressed with Ralph at the Front Desk. We didn't have an international calling plan on our cell phones, so Ralph helped us out by making a dinner reservation for us. The next day, he helped us find a local church, and then Steve personally drove us there. We stayed at this hotel as an add-on to our cruise to Alaska. The rooms were very comfortable. We found Vancouver a bit expensive, over-all, but this hotel has a deal with Norwegian Cruise Lines which made this hotel quite reasonable. We had booked an additional reservation, in addition to the ones purchased through the cruise line, in the event that there was only one queen bed per room, but since there were two beds in every room we didn't need the extra reservation, and they were very gracious about cancelling it. They offer a shuttle that takes you near the Metro. We had a great weekend in Vancouver, and this hotel was a large part of that.

My stay was too short - 8pm to 8am - to give a comprehensive review, but the little I experienced was very good. Free wi-fi, free airport shuttle (time booked) efficient checkin-in and -out. Room was clean with all amenities supplied,

The Holiday Inn in Richmond offers the weary traveler a fine and fair alternative to staying in the over-priced Vancouver hotels, especially during the summer season. Prices generally range between about $240 to $300 a night, but that’s still better than paying over $500 that hotels like the Hampton on Robson demand during the summer (and it needs to be said: I can understand paying such high rates if you’re staying in a luxury hotel like the Fairmont, but a HAMPTON INN? Outrageous). My partner and I certainly appreciated this slight reprieve on our wallets.

I think what I appreciate most about the Holiday Inn, besides the fair prices, is its proximity to things. If you stay here, you’re only minutes away from YVR and can access their free shuttle service; you’re approximately 25 or so minutes away from downtown Vancouver; the River Rock casino and skytrain is about 5 minutes away; and you also have relatively easy access to major shopping centers. In short, this hotel offers convenience in terms of location.

In terms of food options, there are a number of excellent places nearby. First, this Holiday Inn features a Fogg N’ Suds (the only one left!) as its in-house restaurant. The food here is decent and a good value (see my earlier review on this site). There is also a McDonalds close by if you’re pining for something quick and easy. And, if you’re willing to walk, there’s an iHOP just 5 minutes down the road beside Accent Inn. If taking a taxi, then your options broaden significantly: The River Rock and Boathouse are both about a 5-minute ride away.

As for the hotel itself, it is a modern space. Parking was easy to access and, contrary to what some others have said, we didn’t find it “tight” by any means. Our room was basic, but carried some modern amenities that have become almost “essential” in this day and age: free Internet access, outlets to charge “smart” devices, and flat screen TVs. Furthermore, and most important, the room fulfilled its purpose in that it provided us a clean and comfortable place to sleep. Our one complaint, though? Each room is advertised as having its own mini fridge; however, ours didn’t contain one – a slight inconvenience because we couldn’t keep any cold beverages.

The staff at this location deserve special mention as well. Check-In was a breeze and the front desk was very friendly – didn’t come across as condescending, unlike some folks in a few Vancouver hotels I’ve stayed at. You actually feel welcomed here. As well, the fellow who works the graveyard shift deserves an award for customer service! He was great – the surly guy who works graveyard at the Accent Inn can and should take some lessons this guy.

All in all, my partner and I enjoyed our stay at this Holiday Inn. The location offers convenience and the prices are considerably nicer than the ridiculous ones you have to pay if staying in downtown Vancouver during the summer season. Recommended!
