We've enjoyed a lunch buffet at Mr. A's several times and with each successive visit the quality of the food as well as the service has gone downhill. On our last visit the host seated us and we proceeded to the steam tables for our meal. It was not until we were about to start on our dessert that a server finally arrived to inquire what we'd like to drink. The only items that I would recommend now are the desserts (the pecan pie is especially nice).

Attended a wet cool golf tournament day. Enjoyed my team mates and was capped off with a fantastic prime rib buffet. Always enjoy this buffet!!! Shhhhh, don't tell anyone :)

Buffet dinner for a friend’s 25th wedding anniversary on a Saturday night.

First- they need shades or tinting on windows for the sunnier days coming. We were blinded & roasted like a greenhouse. Thank goodness we were sat near the exit doors so we could open them and catch a breeze.

Second- buffet is just average for selection

Third- server really struggled to keep track of drinks. She assigned numbers & wrote them down but still managed to get it wrong on so many levels. A child’s iced tea turned into a Long Island version. Drink glasses went empty. Drinks were forgotten.

Fourth - the billing was way off too. Apart from writing the orders down & assigning numbers she still managed to charge us for the wrong drinks.

Thank goodness for the staff they charge a service charge because there was no tip earned tonight!!

The dining room looks onto the Newland's Golf Course and have live band entertainment and dancing on weekends. There is ample free parking.

The lunch buffet consisted of the salads, entrees and dessert. The fresh fruit of pineapple, honeydew, cantaloupe and grapes were refreshing, potato salad has a nice flavor. The highlights of the entrees are baked salmon with black bean sauce was very nicely prepared, not overcooked (a nice trick considering it's on steam table), the pineapple curry chicken has an equal balance of curry and pineapple so the curry is not overwhelming and the cream of zucchini soup was nice. There was a good assortment of desserts of pecan pie, 2 varieties of chocolate cakes and a variety of mousses (the mousses are made in house). We tried 2 different mousses, and 1 chocolate cake and all are very nice and not sweet.

Service is another story, they require some basic etiquette.

There was 1 Filipino server who was always around a table occupied by 4 Filipino ladies and speaking in their native tongue Tagalog, which can be heard at one end of the dining room.

Our server kept reaching across in front of us to remove soiled dishes and cutlery, when all she had to do was walk around to the other side of the table. When they removed the soiled dishes and cutlery, they did not replace them.

When offering coffee refills, they don't remove the cup and saucer from the table to pour the coffee, they reach over you and pour right on the table.

This a major no no in any restaurant - Someone associated with either the restaurant or the golf course as he was passing the dessert buffet, with his hands picked up a piece of dessert and popped it into his mouth.

All buffets that we've dined at, all include beverages, NOT here. Our server inquired if we would like coffee as if it was included, imagine our surprise when we received our bill to find an additional $6 added.

The food overall is very good, the service has a lot to be desired.
