Fabulous food. Our group each ordered very different items, and each was prepared perfectly and arrived in good time. Always busy with a line-up, so make a reservation!

The worst service I have ever experienced coupled with bland, mediocre food. They literally acted like they didn't want customers.

Our extended family of 9 had supper there. I shaered an appetizer of vegetable terrine that was fukk of taste and very good. Our main courses were all well done but I would have taken a bit more taste to everything. The portions are just the right size, not too much. The wine list is extensive and interesting. Lots of good options at a reasonable price.

We had a very nice dinner at the Sage Bistro, but there could be a few things to make it better.

The food itself was really good - I had a lamb shank and my dining companions had trout and duck breast - all were prepared very well and were delicious. The trout was a little on the small size and if you were really hungry you may be left wanting more. The pricing was reasonable for this kind of food - it is a moderately high end place but you get very good food.

However, the food was not as hot as it could have been when it got to the table - like it had been sitting for too long once plated in the kitchen. This was for all our meals, not just one.

Another thing that we didn't like was that they charged for bread - $1 per person. It may be very good bread but they should just work it into the prices for the meals and ask you if you would like some bread.

They mixed up our reservation, but there were enough tables so we didn't have a problem. Finally there a mix up with the pricing for our wine - the price on the bill was higher than on the menu. They fixed it right away, but this shouldn't happen.

Overall the food was very good, but they need to pay more attention to the small details.

I've had better service at a rest stop gas station.

Walked in with a group of 10, wasn't even looked at. Proceeded to talk to the hostess (can't recall her name but had piercings and a tattoo) who was rude and more interested in her iPhone. When we finally did get her attention, she claimed the restaurant (which was empty except for one table) was 'reserved'. It was 8:30 pm. Then we were denied access to the wine lounge because our sleeping 6 month old baby was 'a minor'.

Drove down the road to Patrinos Steakhouse, where the food was great and we were treated with utmost respect and received great service.

Would definitely recommend Sage for anyone whose standard for service is Burger King.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. It is unfortunate that you did not take the time to call ahead and reserve a table on a Saturday night. We also encourage guests to book well in advance for larger parties. You were greeted by the staff promptly but appeared to be annoyed that we were fully booked for that evening in the bistro. We value our guests and do appreciate reservations. I understand your disappointment but it appeared that after not getting the answer you wanted to hear, you became rude towards the staff which is completely unfair to them and is not how they deserve to be treated. Obviously, It is not our policy to willing turn down business, so I'm not sure why you would feel that way?
You then inquired about our beautiful wine lounge upstairs where, indeed, we do not allow minors. (A minor is any patron under the age of 18 in Alberta, sleeping or not)
I would certainly encourage anyone without minors in their party to try the tapas-style menu upstairs as it offers a unique, social menu with an inviting atmosphere.

It is our hope that next time we can accommodate you so you may review an actual dining experience.
