The Skylite Motel is not modern. It is certainly not fancy. However, the minute you are greeted by the Park family, you feel safe, welcome, and cared for. Parksville is located in one of the most beautiful regions of the West Coast of British Columbia, on the east coast of Vancouver Island on the way to Tofino and beyond. The Skylite Motel was perfectly clean, quiet and comfortable. The Park family offer a modest breakfast with your stay. Delicious and simple. And bunnies abound in the evening. This motel was a perfect respite from long road travel. Don't miss Cathedral Grove!

We were delighted to find a spot that would allow us to take our dog with us to Parksville for a couple of days. Not only was the hotel clean and extremely well-managed, the large room they selected for us on the main floor, had a patio door access to the backyard, so our dog could come and go, while we were there. He made friends with several Rabbits who lived nearby and enjoyed chasing them around the yard; never catching them of course!

The room also featured a kitchenette (more like a full kitchen) with the stove and oven, large fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. My Sweetie made me two lovely breakfast on the mornings while we were there, although a Continental breakfast is offered free of charge with the room. We enjoyed eating our breakfast out on the little patio, table and chairs, outside the patio doors.

Would recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonably priced room, in Parksville.

Exceptional customer service! The owners are very helpful. The room was very large, comfortable beds and quiet. Having assigned parking spaces at a motel is and added bonus. Having a continental breakfast in the morning before you start your day is great. Had a great rest after a long day of travelling and sightseeing.

Room tip: The motel is just off the main road but very quiet.

We were pleasantly surprised when we stopped here last minute on our way up island. Our room was large with lots of storage space and the kitchen had everything we needed. We were on the top floor and were surprised that we couldn't hear any traffic as this motel is right on the highway. This is a good location for exploring the Parksville and Qualicum areas. Owners very friendly. We would stay here again.

Room tip: Room 207 is a large room facing the parking lot.

We stayed overnight in order to participate in a dog show next day. We were given a dog friendly room which was enormous. Two double beds, a kitchenette, table and chairs and patio doors leading out to a private stretch of grass which was all fenced in. None of the other rooms had access to the grass so far as we could see, though I think the far end was for the owners. It was perfect for us and our very large dog. The kitchenette was fully equipped. There was also a large lobby which led to the bathroom Though the room could have done with updating, it was all very clean and no complaints. The owners were very helpful indeed. On the whole we were very pleased and would recommend it.

Room tip: If you have dogs, then room 107 is perfect with patio doors and access to grass outside. Watch out for the rabbits though!
