“Enjoyed reconnecting with Magog”
Reviewed 4 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We recently stayed at La Maison Hatley in Magog for a week to attend a funeral for a family member. My two sisters, my Mom, my wife and my cousin all stayed in this character home just across the river from the main street in Magog.

The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. We were made welcome by the owner who was very nice and whose command of English and French was helpful. We rented the whole house except for the part where she lives and we were comfortable and satisfied. I do have to say one of the rooms was a bit cold the first night (temp outside was -20C) only because we arrived very late and hadn't had an opportunity to get instructions regarding the beautiful, almost 160 year old house.

The owner made us feel very welcome and she was easy and fun to talk to.

The main street of Magog is a very short walk away. You cross the bridge, turn right and the small town charm opens up to you. We were lucky enough to have a few days of beautiful fluffy snow but also a bit of freezing rain to remind us of why we moved west so many years ago.

The house provided a great place for us to cook our meals and sit around with a few drinks while reminiscing on our childhoods in this small town. Staying here as a group was great idea and we would stay again. Be aware that all the bedrooms are on the second floor so you must be able to maneuver stairs.

Thanks to Patricia for the hospitality.
