Really disappointed with our stay. While the room itself was adequate for an old Inn, it was clean and comfortable. But the dining staff was ill prepared , and untrained in food service. Had to ask for everything, water, utensils, salt/pepper etc. Front desk clerk was somewhat rude. Absolutely no promotional literature regarding tourist activities in the surrounding area. I blame management for not staying on top of things. Too bad - such a nice location.
Severely over priced! Old and tired and smelly. The carpet in rooms is scary. The staff is rude and incapable of adequate service the breakfast is overpriced and inedible. They are not qualified to run a hotel or a restaurant - nor do I recommend this hotel or either of their restaurants. I’m surprised health inspectors haven’t shut them down. Seriously 😳
Been a couple of years for my wife and I to have a short vacation decided a boat cruse and a nice water front motel with a view. Choice Gananoque Inn & Spa. Great they had Room 108 Water Front $429.00 per night 2- nights king bed jacuzzi tub outside room parking walk outside and sit at the water front edge watch the boats etc. This room was ready and CLEANED ready for us to move in. Mostly unpacked my wife and I noticed the bed (ruffled) continued smashed bugs all over the walls/light switches never cleaned above the bed dry wall tape hanging/the tub dirty/the couch was made love on/a make shift a/c unit duck taped/face cloths dirty/the list goes on contacted the manager they come to CLEAN the room. Holding my cool they proceed to just look and (we clean we clean) the bed covers were POO stained.. queen size sheets on a king bed. old mattress cover dirty remove the cover and I see a very brown old wore out mattress. Outside broken chairs/tables spider infested. This dump should be closed the managers/owners/cleaners gone. Take this review serious, This is only a short version! ATTENTION! Health Ontario complete a surprise inspection on every room. Semi Retired Couple, Business owner 34 years. Totally Disgusted!!!
Sadly, the Inn has deteriorated on many levels. Firstly, the price you pay to be in little old Gananoque is criminal. Over $300 for one night in an outdated, dirty, musty room. The washroom was dirty, oue room was described as Island view and we looked out to a parking lot.
Buyer beware, save your money and book a room at another hotel. We'll NEVER go back!
If it was possible to give zero stars I would have. Horrendous place.,I always read reviews before booking any type of accommodation but just didn’t get round to it this time. What a shame, I feel terrible that I got totally ripped off in this absolute dump of a so called inn. On checking Inn, the elderly lady wasn’t very friendly. If seems you have to be over 80 to receive service with a smile from this receptionist. Thankfully I’d only booked 1 night with my family. The Capet in this place is absolutely disgusting, it is clear to see it isn’t hoovered on a daily basis. The glass also throughout the Inn is so filthy. There’s also a really bad smell throughout the reception/bar area. My husband & I chose to eat here for convenience sake. We ordered the buttered chicken. The sauce was from a packet & not a hint of a vegetable. It was of such poor quality. The breakfast was a complete joke, it was surprisingly busy. We waited forever for pancakes & coffee. There was absolutely nothing buffet style. There were only two members of staff working in the dining area. The staff were completely untrained & actually quite rude. You can see by the reviews posted here that there hasn’t been one response from a manager. That says it all really. Faulty towers at its best, poorly run is an understatement. Horrendous Inn with poorly trained staff & just an all round waste of 200 bucks to stay in this absolute dive. I wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy. Where is the manager???????
