The property itself is gorgeous — very regal and well-manicured externally. Internally, it’s easy to tell they’re still struggling from the effects of COVID.

The bar/restaurant requires reservations if you want any chance at a seat (something no one tells you).

The rooms are a bit worn and are overdue for an update (pretty sure my iPad was about the size of the TV).

Temperature control was always an issue, whether in-room or using the conference areas.

And the service, while very courteous and professional, was slow.

Probably deserved a 3/5, but given how remote it is and how difficult staffing is these days, a 4/5 is fair.

The apperance of the property is quite impressive! Also the dining and bar rooms are really luxurious.
The rooms and hallways are a little out-dated. The bed was very comfy. Very nice staff! Also the ghost-tour at night was a lot of fun!

BUT - the bathroom in my rooms was BEYOND small! The door opened just 2 centimeters away from the toilet. WAY TOO SMALL!
Also our room was right above the kitchen - the smell was really bad. It felt like we were standing right next to the fryer! Really bad!

We stayed at the Algonquin Resort for 3 nights October 5, 2022 to October 8, 2022. The service at the hotel has become less than it used to be. We stay at thew hotel when ever we are near St. Andrews, NB. It was impossible to get our room cleaned after the first night even after calling 3 times. Finally we asked for just towels which took forever to get. The next day the same happened and finally the final day of our stay, after complaining, our room was cleaned.

The menu at the restaurant is very limited especially at dinner. The dinning room manager was not helpful.

Very disappointing stay this time!
