Finding Nipika was a challenge, not in actually getting there, but finding something like nipika existed. This started years ago, with a dream of going to Canada & staying in the rockies in log cabins (laugh all you want at its clicheness) months & months of researching i didnt think i was going to find somewhere that would actually fit the bill of what we truely wanted, then we found it, proper hand built cabins, away from it all the depth of the canadian rockies!! Describing nipika is hard simply is you have to experience it to beleive it. Tucked away down a very long logging track (it didnt do the hire car much good) is Nipika, one mans dream (lyle the most genuinely lovely man we have ever met) to create a eco resort in the rockies. The cabins our peices of art, built by hand with all you need to keep you going, no more but the most fantastic way to live whilst there, a small kitchen, cooker & fridge, sofa, fireplace, bathroom & bedroom, constructed in the meadow surounded by forest. along side that theres the hot tub (my partner is still planning his own at home, the thing he took most pictures of while in canada), the volleyball court, sauna & pool (of sorts). Not forgetting km &km of trail and routes for the forest, along the river and beyond. We only stayed here for the 3 days and it will be 3 days i will never forget, we both want to come back so so much and we will even if we have to save all our pennies to do. Ive never had tears in my eyes leaving a vacation stop, but on this occasion i did (not helped by lyle asking if we would stay just 1 more day).
