My family and I stayed at this beautiful cottage for a week whilst visiting Nova Scotia. We love peace and tranquility but also like to be not too far from amenities so the location was perfect. It is around five minutes drive from the centre of Lunenburg so not too expensive in a taxi if you have a meal and some wine at one of the towns great restaurants, but is also out of the way so it is absolutely silent most of the time.
The cottage itself is located in a water inlet so the view to the front is stunning, just as stunning however is the view from the rear onto the very large tree lined back garden. We counted six Deer munching the lawn at one point with at least one present every morning and night out there. An Osprey often swoops onto the sea at the front , quite a sight to see especially when a catch is made.
We loved sitting on the porch at the front and watching four humming birds that live in the trees, feeding on the feeder i bought in town, I managed to get some photos with one in, though mostly without such is their speed.
The cottage itself is bigger than it looks in the photos with loads of room to spread out in, the decor is very pleasant and the amenities new and in full working order. Out the back is a gas barbecue that was really useful for keeping the smells outside when cooking steaks etc,we ate out some times but others stayed in.
The only one thing I will say is that the area is known for Ticks that carry Lyme disease, not a major issue if you know about it, just make sure you spray repellent on yourselves and your kids and keep a look out on your skin after being out in the garden.
That said I would return at the drop of a hat, it was a great place.
