Not a great place to stay. Extremely dated and in need if a face-lift. Bathrooms had no bars of soap using a liquid handsoap dispenser instead...tacky. No shampoo available so be sure you have your own. No hair driers. Hot tub was hot but it did appear to be a tad grungy. Considering we paid close to $90.00 a night I would expect a little more.

Very old. Rooms were spacious enough with a small but clean bathroom. One microwave in a common are for all guests. Rooms do not lock from the outside so they have to be left open all day. Staff were friendly. Good location in the centre of town.

We needed a room for one night of our motorcycle trip. Phoned ahead they were accommodating. Price for a 2 bed room was good value. Beds were comfortable and place was clean and quiet. The rating of 5 I gave is because, in my mind, it is a top rated accommodation in its class. I recommend Downtowner to others.

Yes this hotel is dated. Yes the decor is from the seventies. Yes it isn't the most prettiest hotels in Creston. So if you are some kind of princess, this may not be the place for you.
But it is clean. It is quiet. The owners are friendly and helpful. It is very reasonable priced and it is right in the heart of downtown Creston.
I have no problem staying here, I always have a great sleep.
So take a step back in time and enjoy a simple comfortable hotel. If anything, it will be groovy.

We stayed one night in Creston on our way east. The Downtowner had a reasonable price and good location. We decided to stay there.

The hotel has an excellent location if you want to be in "downtown" Creston (not much there). There appears to be ample free parking on site (the parking lot was almost empty the night we were there so it is hard to say if the parking is adequate on a busy night). The hotel is easy to find.

Check-in was smooth - we had hoped to get in early but that was not possible. The room was ready at "check-in" time. We were on the second floor facing the main street. The room was clean and a good size. The bathroom has been re-done and the only issue is that the tub is very slow to drain. The main room is dated but as I said, it was clean and tidy. There is WiFi in the hotel (free) and a variety of TV channels.

The A/C is a window mounted model that was a bit noisy. There was also some street noise (we faced the main street which is the highway through town). The beds were comfortable.

There is a sauna and whirlpool in the hotel but we did not try either.

Coffee and tea are available in the "atrium" area.

All in all not a bad deal but nothing special. There is no breakfast included.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, get a room facing the back of the hotel
