We enjoyed the Fort with our 6 year old grandson. They had a scavenger hunt booklet for him. He loved feeding the goats and visiting the horses. He was chosen to inspect the troop just before the musical ride which was a highlight. We had been to Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump in the morning so he was fascinated by the diorama of the cliff.

Wife and I stopped in Fort Macleod after we saw a poster for musical horse show while at Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. The museum has many interesting displays and reproduction buildings that give you an idea what life was like in western Canada in the late 1800s. While we were there (a Saturday) they had a demonstration firing of 1800s cannon and rifles by reenactors (all military veterans). They also spent time answering questions and posing in period uniforms for pictures. There was also a musical horse demonstration of cavalry maneuvers set to music.Very interesting.

We visited the Fort Museum and watched the musical ride. The history of the NWMP in Canada was very interesting. The musical ride was also impressive especially in the heat. A very worthwhile visit. You wont be disappointed. Would definitely return.

Nice little museum. Lots of good stuff in the gift shop. 14-22 year old locals put on a musical ride several times a day. Well done. Don't forget to get your icecream next door!

Called in early may during the week. We were the first through the door. Displays go into a lot of detail on the history of the rcmp and the fort. Could have spent a lot longer there.
