A group of 12 of us stayed in Pineapple Villa in March and it was the most relaxing trip we could have ever asked for. The cottage is so big with 2 levels of outside seating that we never felt crowded. And having staff to cook authentic Jamaican meals for you, do all the grocery shopping, clean up after you, do your laundry daily is a luxury that you have to experience to believe.
Al is a new addition to the villa and he's a keeper! Not only is he an amazing cook, but he appointed himself as the kids' buddy and kept them so entertained every evening at times we felt we were on an adult-only trip. They already miss him and hope he comes to visit us if he's ever in the states.
Gwendolyn and Angie were also outstanding cooks and our kids will never be the same after having Gwennie's pancakes. Andy is also a huge help and he and Al tried to teach my son a thing or two in the kitchen. Hope it sunk in!
The water pressure would be a complaint, but with 12 people sometimes overlapping in showers, it's not that surprising, nor is it a deal-breaker as far as I'm concerned. The kids were disappointed that the hot tub seemed to quit on us halfway through the trip and never was repaired. I'm not sure what the problem was there. But, again, those were the only inconveniences in our entire stay.
Silver Sands is paradise for families or large groups who want to feel safe and even a part of the community. The beach is wonderful with plenty of chairs and palapas and the life guards take their job seriously. It's also worth it to wander off the property right next door to visit the merchants and have a beer at Leroy's. They also have live music on Saturday nights that we wanted to go to, but were enjoying star gazing and having cocktails on our upper deck too much to leave.
I could go on and on, but it's hard to mention everything that makes this place paradise. This was our second time to Silver Sands and I'm certain it won't be our last.
