Rooms were updated and very clean. Staff were very friendly as well.
Try to get a room with a SOUTH view. At least you will be able to see the bay from.those rooms. North view rooms at the end looks into a building.

Room Tip: WiFi is expensive in Iqaluit..and very slow so be patient.

A comfortable place to stay in an awesome unique northern community. The hotel room came with a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee machine. The hotel offers a convenience store, coffee shop, and an excellent restaurant. I would recommend that you bring some food in your luggage, as prices for fresh and other foods are rather high. This is because all fresh foods are airlifted into this territorial capital.

A local must eat food is Arctic Char. There is a store in town that sells regular, smoked, and dried candied Char. Another delicacy is Seal meat. Even caribou meat has to be brought in from the south.

There are many taxis to take you around town. The price is $7.00 a person for a ride. If you stop along the way, and get out of the cab, it's another $7.00 when you get back in to continue on. You could opt for the $30.00 for a half hour fare. If you want to leave town, you go by foot, ATV, snowmobile, or dog sled.

There is much daylight in the summer, and much darkness in the winter. Call the hotel ahead of time to ask what type of outerwear is appropriate for the season.

The hotel sports a bar, in a town where alcohol is not readily available. Many northern communities are dry. The bar is very busy and can be a bit rowdy. It's probably a good idea to bring your favourite beverage with you, or go to the Legion.

The hotel staff is helpful and friendly. Please keep in mind that you will be immersed in a cultural environment much different than you may be used to. Iqaluit is a safe friendly community, but it's best to walk around town with a buddy.

There are several places in town where you can purchase soap stone carvings, jewellery, and other locally produced quality items. You do not have to be an adventurer to enjoy the North. There are ATM machines, a bank, a hospital, nearby. Several airlines service this community daily and you can charter. Iqaluit is is a gateway community, a stepping stone to points further north.

As always, be respectful of the community, especially the elders and the environment. Bottled water is very difficult to find, but the tap water is clean, snd safe.

You will not regret coming for a visit, and it's an experience that will stay with you forever. Safe travels.

When we arrived the bed was unmade and the sheets were stained. The next day we were out for the morning and when we returned the towels had been changed but the bed had not been changed nor had the garbage been removed. I informed the front desk of this and they said they would see to it. When we returned nothing had been done. We called the front desk again and they sent up sopmeone to change the bed. When she was done and had left we had to make the bed once again. Also, the non functioning light which we had reported had not been fixed.

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel

Everything you need inside. No need to leave, there is a store, movie theater, restaurant, fitness center, conference rooms, excellent food, nice clean rooms. Internet a bit slow and restaurant service also s bit slow during peak times but staff friendly and helpful.

Spent 3 nights at tbe Frob when in Iqaluit for business. The room was clean and the front desk staff was great. I used the fitness centre and ate at the restaurant - no complaints. The wifi barely worked but that is a Nunavut wide issue and nothing to do with the hotel. Will stay here again next time.
