Just a quick review. Hotel was clean and tidy. Room was comfortable enough. Plenty of hot water. Bed was comfy. Allowed to check in early by a very friendly receptionist. Breakfast was very nice. Can’t really fault the experience but didn’t think the room was worth £200 for one night as it was tatty in places but on the whole it was ok.

I’m at a conference this week and it’s been pretty poor. No one available to cook dinner, out dated decor in the event suite and bedrooms, not able to open windows in the bedroom which is insane given that covid is still rife. Food is appalling, really low value ingredients and not tasty at all.

Very nice welcome, the staff on reception were great. Room good, spotless, decent shower, ok bed. Breakfast buffet was decent, although NO BLACK PUDDING. Enjoyable night.

Parking close but pricey. NCP Next door.

Staff all excellent. Breakfast ok. Rest all poor. Bathroom was shabby and water lukewarm both in the evening and at 6am. Walls thin: guests next door had TV on all night fairly quiet and it was still audible. Def not value for money despite location.

Room tip: Walk past this hotel.

The front of house staff at this hotel were welcoming, cheerful and helpful. That is where the positives end. The whole hotel is tired and dated. We had booked a large family room for three of us and paid over £300 for one night in that one room… which would have felt okay if the room had been clean and pleasant to be in. The toilet had pubes left on it from previous guests, the bathroom was generally a bit dirty, the furniture was tatty and grubby, and the whole thing smelled a bit like mildew and body odour. The windows don’t open so we were unable to air the room and putting the air con just made it worse as the ageing system was just pumping out stale air. From the moment we entered off the busy street through the smashed revolving door, the whole building was tired, tatty and disappointing. We also only got three teabags and two tiny packs of biscuits for our money, which added insult to injury and is unbelievably tight! Would definitely not return or recommend.
