We stayed here with friends in this well located B&B in Clifton. We booked late via Booking.com. There was room in the car park when we arrived but there was plenty of free weekend parking on the streets within 30 yards. Our room was small but cosy. The shower room/WC was a let down and needed a bit of work. The drain smelled (on pulling up the plug it was matted with hair which reduced the water flow draining away.) The extractor fan was exceedingly noisy and although everything was clean on the surface there were signs of ageing. The shower was sluggish.
Breakfast was precooked and served on cold plates. The bacon was brittle! The free range eggs were lovely!
With a deep clean of the shower room and a few tweaks this could be a cracking Guest House.

Had a great overnight stay. Plenty of parking, very clean room and bathroom, tea, coffee and biscuits a plenty in the room and despite being next to the road very quiet! Best thing - the staff - fantastic. Not so good - the coffee at breakfast! Not to my taste. Great location and value for money overall.

It's an impressive building, nicely converted, though the dining room felt a little cramped. It's very useful having on site parking as the location is excellent (quiet yet close to many amenities) and parking in the area is difficult and expensive. We paid for a superior room, with a king size bed and it was certainly very spacious but the bed wasn't very comfortable (in particular the pillows) and everything was a bit minimal. It was as though they'd looked at the requirements to get 4 stars then ensured they met them exactly, but no more. Just little things like having a box of tissues in the room would have been nice, and a luggage rack (there was certainly space in the room for that). It was a nice touch to have a sofa and coffee table in the room and the shower was good, but a bit cramped. I was also a bit taken aback by the lack of net curtains or sheer blinds at the windows, given the large size of the windows and the proximity to neighbouring buildings: not a lot of privacy unless you like to get dressed with the curtains closed (which I don't). Wi-fi wasn't too good, either, as other reviewers have mentioned.

Room Tip: We had a 2nd floor room - spacious, sunny, overlooking the side of the grounds/car park so lovelly and quiet.

We visited this hotel for 2 nights as a base to explore Bristol and Bath. The hotel is situated almost next door to the Bristol University so if you need to work there this is ideal. There are plenty of shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants within walking distance. The room we had was very large and clean. It contained a king size bed and a settee. The bathroom was nice and the shower superb. The staff are very friendly and made us feel welcome. The breakfast is a buffet style for cereal, fruit juices, cheeses and yoghurt. You can then order a full or part English breakfast with vegetarian options available. They also have soya milk. This is a nice hotel in a good location but be warned about all the hills around you. Would recommend this without hesitation.

Well located in Bristol for Clifton.

We had a very spacious room and the bed was comfortable.

Breakfast was alright with a reasonable choice. I thought the coffee was slightly disappointing.

Reception was friendly.

Overall it was adequate but I did not feel any aspect was outstanding.
