Diner review only.
I decided to try the diner for lunch on Wednesday 3rd August with my sister-in-law and four kids aged between 5-11. We were really excited to come and check it out as the menu and decor looked great.
The diner itself looks amazing and we were greeted warmly and given some wooden puzzles for the kids to play with while we waited.
The ordering process was fine, however, there were a few errors with our order when it came out: we requested one of the kid's burgers to be plain for my 5-year-old and it came with cheese, gherkins, onions, and sauce which she didn't like, they didn't replace the burger but gave me an empty bun to transfer it into once I had scraped everything off, my order was also forgotten, on top of this everything came out at different times and there was no apology for any of this from the waiting staff.
Finally, we were given our bill without having asked for it, with no check as to whether we wanted any dessert or extra drinks, and without having cleared our table which was covered in plates and food.
The food itself was delicious and high quality and the shakes are incredible. The kids' menu is really good value, especially with a shake being only £2 as an add-on.
I think the real disappointment with our visit was the lack of friendliness and enthusiasm from the general waiting staff serving the tables (the lady who greeted us excluded from this as she was great): lots of standing around looking bored, no smiles when interacting with us and a general air of being disinterested.
I don't usually write reviews but did this in the hope that the feedback is taken on board as I think Mollies has such potential to be a great venue and one that I'd like to return to with the kids for a treat as the food and shakes are delicious. However, I'd only want to do this in the knowledge that we would have friendly service as our first experience left us feeling flat and disappointed.
