Description: A charming Clifton village pub.At the heart of Clifton village you'll find a unique and magical pub, where the much-loved retro décor combines perfectly with walls adorned with local artwork. Soak up the atmosphere over a pint of cask ale and a bit of banter with our friendly bartenders, or tuck into some fresh, seasonal pub food lovingly created in our open kitchen. Better still, why not hold your own celebration in our front bar? Whatever takes your fancy at The Clifton, you won't be disappointed.

We met here on a Saturday afternoon . It was pleasantly quiet, the barmen were friendly and attentive . We had the mushroom risotto and halloumi rainbow salad. Both were lovely, we had two glasses of sauv blanc at £14 made for expensive drinks .
Nice atmosphere, good food, will return .

Had dinner here one evening, visiting an old haunt from my brothers university years.

Drinks were good and reasonably priced, food was hit and miss. Fish and chips and cauliflower cheese was delicious, however the cheese and meat board was dissapointing. Baked camembert was OK, but the bread it was baked in tasted stale, however the fresh bread board, the same bread was lovely. We had just returned from France so perhaps our expectations were too high!

Other than that, great pub. Selection of board games to play too, which we took great advantage of!

Thank Sammy D

Hey Sammy,
Thanks for your review.
I'm sorry to here that you found your baked Camembert to be stale - it's baked for longer then the bread board so that could be the issue.
We hope to see you again
Cheers

Having moved to Cliftonwood I was really pleased to find a "proper" pub in the heart of the village. Great atmosphere, great choice of beer, great food and the background music is a wonderfully eclectic mix of long forgotten favourites! Really friendly staff - keep up the good work, already looking forward to our meal with you on Christmas Day!

We have been fairly regular "goers" to The Clifton for a while, and have to say it has everything that you would need from a local pub, and also makes a great visit for a night "out out". Great decor, a wonderful selection of drinks, really friendly and welcoming staff (Thanks Lucia and Jason) and a great menu. Can't recommend it enough, and we are looking forward to spending our Christmas Day they this year!!

Had a super lovely roast here today. My boyfriend and I are vegan and the pub were super accommodating and our food was delicious. My parents (not vegan) had the roast chicken and both said their food was amazing. Great service and amazing food. Would definitely eat here again! According to my dad - they also have a great selection of gin!
