So, yet another chance to pitch The Mint Room against Nutmeg, head-to-head: I LOVE my job! The Mint Room simply oozes class, and mystique; cleverly coupled with really friendly, welcoming staff, and a few very clever touches that I’ve still not seen replicated anywhere else – like really interesting papadums and pickles at the start, and amazing and delicious chocolate-covered frozen mint leaves (these take longer to write about than to eat!) at the end. It’s little touches like these that make this place stand head-and-shoulders above the mainstream of ‘good Indian’ restaurants. My dining companion this time is a vegetarian, and they said that the veggie and vegan offerings on the menu here were amongst the very best that they’d ever seen; and they confirmed that the quality of the eating absolutely met the billing! There are regular tweaks to the menu at The Mint Room, and the most recent have introduced even more non-meat options – the mushroom starter is delicious – and there’s always remarkable chutneys to go with your papadums – for example, a superb coriander, mint, green chilli, and yoghurt blend, which is livid green, and startlingly delicious! They still make the standard-sounding into something exceptional – the Lamb Saag for example; and the new 'Duck Sheek Kebab; and the service is consistently excellent. The recently-introduced charges for the initial papadums have upped the overall price a little, and the prices here reflect the quality, and the location, and the decor, and the locale; so, it’s not cheap … but it is great value for a memorable meal out!

The tasting menu of Indian food with flight of wines was delicious, offering unusual taste combos and beautifully presented food. The staff were the fabulous- one of our group wasn’t feeling very well and they were both considerate and generous. We will definitely go back.

Excellent attentive friendly staff. Have had the tasting menu a few months ago so thought we d try a l carte. Lots of choice starters fish, meat or veggie platter for 2. We had delicious veggie platter which was delicious with vegetarian cheese and spinach. Main course we had goats curry Briant and a chicken with baby aubergines and Tara Dahl. All very special. I still think the taster menu is best and looking forward to going again. Food is from different areas of India as are the staff.

A truly wonderful evening - would thoroughly recommend. We live so close but haven't been able to go in so thought we'd spend our 3 year anniversary here. We had the tasting menu which was absolutely delicious especially the venison steak and halibut. The service was excellent and the food was served very promptly. The wines were delicious and complimented the meals very nicely. It is a treat but most definitely worth the money and the staff talk you through all the dishes which adds to the experience. Thank you for a fabulous evening - we will be back!

My husband and I went early on Saturday evening after a fabulous afternoon distilling gin at Psychopomp Distillery (see separate review).

The service was impeccable, atmosphere lovely and food delicious. Sadly my choice of cocktail was bad as I struggled to drink it - but that was my bad choice not the drink!

The wine flight was exceptional value at £22.

My only reason for the 4 stars was the cost. Very pricey but delicious.
