I'd visited this pub once before last year when it was quite rough and ready but it appears to be under new ownership and has had a complete turnaround. The staff are polite and friendly and the other customers are friendly and feel part of an extended family. My friend and I sat in the well kept garden and had one of the best pub lunches I've tried at a reasonable price (the bubble and sausage and pork belly we had were truly excellent).
I hadn't expected to find a place of this quality so far off the beaten track, and I'm amazed at how far its turned around in such a short time. A lovely family feel in an unstuffy surroundings, a pleasant change to the nearby bars.
