on entering the room there was an overwhelming smell. It smelt old damp. Bed was comfy but could smell the pillows, mattress and duvet had absorbed the smell. Linen was clean. Tea kettle on the floor on a tray, did not feel like making a drink there. Overall the room seemed clean but carpet felt tacky so kept my socks on. I did not try to get into the wardrobe as I have arthritis it would have been challenging to get into as it was wedged in an alcove covering some of the window. I did not read the details properly as I thought I was booking an on suite this was not the case it was a shared bathroom. On entering the bathroom I did not feel it was that clean plus the bath mat was soaking wet, presumably from another guest. I did not use the shower just the toilet.
The other thing I did not like is that they had already charged my card used as security. On the booking.com it states that this would not happen until you had arrived. I normally pay in cash.
The person on reception was ok.More
