We went to this lovely hotel for Sunday lunch with two friends and our two little dogs, (When I booked I was told that the hotel was dog friendly, but that lunch would have to be in The Brasserie - no problem)
We sat in the lounge & enjoyed a drink before lunch, and the views are fantastic. We were then shown to our table, again with wonderful views, and were surprised to find that, although we had to eat in the Brasserie because of dogs, the table setting and linen were immaculate - beyond expectations.
Lunch was delicious - very nicely cooked and presented, and the waiters were attentive and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed starter and main course.The table was cleared and the waiter said he would return to see if we wanted desserts. However, after waiting about thirty minutes for a desserts menu, no-one reappeared - the place seemed deserted.Our waiter had disappeared. One of our party eventually went into the bar to ask if we could have coffee and petits fours - by then we'd given up on the idea of the desserts that we were looking forward to!, -and we said we would come & have our coffee and petits fours in the lounge. The waiter brought the coffees to us, but I was very disappointed to find that the 'petits fours' were not little delicacies made by the chef, as we are normally served in hotels, but commercial foil wrapped chocolates and a ginger biscuit..
Unfortunately, the lack of service after what should have been a delightful meal with friends prompted me to write this review.
We will probably return here for Sunday Lunch. but. hopefully next time, our waiter will not forsake us after the main course but return for desserts and coffee orders.
