We went to this lovely hotel for Sunday lunch with two friends and our two little dogs, (When I booked I was told that the hotel was dog friendly, but that lunch would have to be in The Brasserie - no problem)
We sat in the lounge & enjoyed a drink before lunch, and the views are fantastic. We were then shown to our table, again with wonderful views, and were surprised to find that, although we had to eat in the Brasserie because of dogs, the table setting and linen were immaculate - beyond expectations.
Lunch was delicious - very nicely cooked and presented, and the waiters were attentive and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed starter and main course. The table was cleared and the waiter said he would return to see if we wanted desserts. However, after waiting about thirty minutes for a desserts menu, no-one reappeared - the place seemed deserted. Our waiter had disappeared. One of our party eventually went into the bar to ask if we could have coffee and petits fours - by then we'd given up on the idea of the desserts that we were looking forward to!, -and we said we would come & have our coffee and petits fours in the lounge. The waiter brought the coffees to us, but I was very disappointed to find that the 'petits fours' were not little delicacies made by the chef, as we are normally served in hotels, but commercial foil wrapped chocolates and a ginger biscuit..
Unfortunately, the lack of service after what should have been a delightful meal with friends prompted me to write this review.
We will probably return here for Sunday Lunch. but. hopefully next time, our waiter will not forsake us after the main course but return for desserts and coffee orders.

We visited the Falmouth Hotel this evening as part of a trip down memory lane. We had an unforgettable evening made extra special by the superb service from all the staff in the castle beach restaurant. Their attentiveness and thoughtfulness was first class. An extra big thank you to Michael Toner who went above and beyond the call of duty to make our revisit one to remember. Thank you!

This hotel advertises in the local paper and on a great banner outside the hotel, that it has a Wednesday Lunch Club - but don't bother trying to book.

Two weeks ago we rang on Wednesday morning - very early and were told you have to ring Tuesday. Today we rang at 7.45pm (Tues) and were told you must ring before 3.00pm. I spoke to a duty manager who explained it was company ruling from Head Office and also on the website. IT WAS NOT. I rang back and told them this and they said that it was because the 'club' becomes too busy. Last time I was there they had 6 tables of 2 occupied. I asked how many tables were booked for tomorrow and was told they had 2 tables of 2 booked. Just avoid this place with ridiculous rules and find somewhere else more accomodating.
